    I introduced in this tutorial the steps that I followed to get started with this board and how I made a customized circuit board to do some practicing with my cute Portenta, my circuit board has been designed under Altium designer and produced at JLCPCB factory.
    This is my very first tutorial built around the Arduino Portenta dev board made by Arduino, I discovered this advanced development board from the makers community after it gets very popular in a short period of time.
    Taking such dev board in hands will make you feel its great available feature, very well designed board that contains many peripherals.

    Ahhhhh... How simple it looks for anyone who _has_ skills in engineering PCBs and soldering.
    Now I just dream that somebody who happens to be both having skills in PCBs/soldering, _and_ music/Eurorack, would decide to make a similar “throne-style” breakout but in Eurorack format. Making essentially a super-powerful, super-customizable, and even upgradeable (just add H7 or X8 or any future compatible Arduino!) Eurorack DSP.

      @francescobaldisserri8683 Před rokem

      Check out the daisy seed from electro-smith. It's an stm32 based board ( like the portenta ) built with audio in mind.

    • @amyodov
      @amyodov Před rokem +1

      @@francescobaldisserri8683 It isn't a breakout board in eurorack format, and doesn't let you plug/swap any compatible Arduino; the only where this daisyseed nonsense is related to my idea is “it is somewhat related to audio too”.

    I just dig into the details of your schem! why have you used those screw headers instead of plug-in connectors?
    This is a good training board but why have you just used almost 5% of it?

      @DIYGUYChris  Před 2 lety

    Low temperature solder paste? It's been a few years, but low temperature solder paste didn't work when I was fixing cell phones. The connectors would pop off the pcb when you plugged or unplugged the flex cables. Maybe by stabilizing the solder joints with epoxy conformal coating?

    • @DIYGUYChris
      @DIYGUYChris  Před rokem

      Similar to any other solder paste (with same alloy) but could be molten under low temperature heat which makes it a low temperature profile solder paste, you can check the ref. from CHIPQUIK SMDLTLFP10T5 for the details

    How does this compare with PICs?

    • @DIYGUYChris
      @DIYGUYChris  Před 2 lety +1

      It depends on the PIC category, surely it has to be compared with a 32-bits PIC, you can consider that the Portenta is based on the ST MCU a dual core microcontroller (H7 and H4 cores) with many high integrated peripherals especially for data communication, plus the extra ICs of the Portenta board like wifi and Bluetooth etc : )

    • @PurpleMomgoose

    • @DIYGUYChris
      @DIYGUYChris  Před 2 lety +1
