Today we are installing Sony's NEW Mobile ES car stereo equipment into our newly acquired 1994 Honda Accord. ES stands for Elevated standard! Sony's NEW XAV-9500es tablet head unit is HI RES AUDIO compatible and features wireless Apple Car Play and Android Auto. #SonyAudio #SonyMobileES #systeminstall
We will be installing the following equipment
- Sony XAV-9500es, Mobile ES multimedia receiver
- Two sets of Sony XS-162es, Mobile ES component speakers
- Sony XS-W104es, Mobile ES 10" sub woofer
- Sony XM-GS100, 330 watt sub woofer amplifier
- Sony XM-GS4, Hi Res Audio four channel amplifier
We build custom speaker mounts and a custom sub woofer box for the NEW Sony Mobile ES SPEAKERS AND SUB!! The four channel amplifier is HI RES CAPABLE! This thing sounds awesome! This was a great way to update our trusty old Accord!

I'm not even all the way through the video yet, but damn this is a good looking install - love the tweeter pods so far. Curious how you think it sounds, been thinking about putting a new stereo in my brother's RAV4. I saw the fab kitchen video im sorry Doug but Mark outdone ya bro theres no way to comepete with vagjsmells proprietary tw1 10 inch shallow mount downfiring quad 1500 watt system simply because with a total volumn of 1.2 cubic ft on 4 subs the bandwidth has got to be extraordinary or not i just dont get jl audio anymore used to love them then they started v2 of everything and forgot that its not 1999 anymore come on jl!
Can't wait for this ES gear to even be available. I hope they make a smaller normal double din version of that headunit with all the same features but "smaller screen" because fuck yeah. Either way sick components and sick build for your kid. If I was him, I would be so freaking happy LOL

I miss these types of videos on your channel. I know you're still working on the Bass Van, but seeing you work your magic on a relatively simple car stereo system is what I prefer more than anything. Your son is very lucky to get that awesome system and even more lucky to have you as his father to install it and set it up right.
It's nice to see how cool this show is when Doug is actually showing off his expert level installation. I think we all would like to see more actual car audio.

Doug inspired me to put a system in my last car. Had a Sony amplified head unit that was excellent, don't know why other brands aren't doin' it.

The old es was amazing! Hoping the new stuff can hang. Sony isn't really for your typical basshead. It more for people who have low watt amazing sounding systems. I hate the word audiophile, so I'm not using it hear.

Glad to see Sony partnered with such a talented individual like yourself to be able to show people that love old cars what they can achieve with such talented individuals like yourself to showcase amazing work and quality products. Hope one day to have my 1968 BMW 2002 showcase Sony products now instead of Alpine like I was planning on going with. Love the documentation of the build with your son, to see his smile and knowing his father built one of such amazing install will live forever in his memory.

This is the reason I stay subscribed to Soundman. When he is installing car audio we really see the genius he is. While this isn't the typical Doug we have come to enjoy and laugh with due to being sponsored it's still awesome to see how thorough he is and doesn't cut corners. Although it is weird seeing him promote a tablet since he is the god of tablet installations. Scotty junior is going to be the envy of all with that bumpin ass accord.

This is the second video I see with the Sony ES system. Both seem to sound so good. Looks like Sony knocked it out of the park with this set very well balanced nice and punchy

I would never considering installing Sony stuff in my vehicle but after watching this video I realize the ES stuff from Sony looks like its good stuff and definitely considering it for my next build.

Clean install! Glad to see Sony mobile ES back in the game. I loved the 4000x DSP I ran 20 years ago. You tuned it with a serial cable connection to a PC. Those were the days:-)

Such a nice installation. I loved the video even more because I have the same amplifiers in my car. My installation is nowhere close to yours, you did an excellent job. I have connected the GS4 to four full range JBL components and GS100 to a JBL 1220 subwoofer(dual 12 inch). I did install both the amplifers in the trunk like you did, but had to move the GS4 beneath the passenger seat as it headed up a lot in the trunk. Keep making cool videos 👍👍
I just went out and bought all new Sony Español equipment for all my hi res oompa music. I'm now that guy you hear bumping accordions at 11 all day erryday ✌️🇺🇸

That was a nice install! I just saw that head unit a few days ago and thought it may be good for my car with its concave shaped dash and crammed together controls, now I REALLY want one. The sub box face is super nice, not too much, not too carpet. Carpety? Carpetity. Fuzzytit… yeah, yep. Great job. Depending on how sincerely positive you sound on the sound equalization video upcoming, I might seriously consider Sony speakers if they have the SQ to match the Hi-Res source.

Sony, like some other companies, makes a lot of cheap stuff for the entry level folks. However, their higher end stuff really does sound amazing! In now way are they some sort of spl monsters, but sound quality wise they’re awesome.
Same with their consumer home audio, big boomy boxes claiming 10,000watts with RGB for the bogans, yet have in the past done dedicated hifi tower speakers with all Scan Speak drivers with actual high end design
