There are some seriously spooky looking properties around Blacket. Pretty creepy place in the dark when I am out walking the dog.

Thank you for another excellent video ❤ Probably mentioned this before ( old lady memory ) , I work in end of life care . Can't tell you how many of my patients when their time comes to pass see deceased members of their family come to collect them . Mostly loving . Once . Not . Decades ago and that one still freaks me out 😮 This elderly woman was a nasty person . Abuser . I won't bother you with the details but she was abuser . What came for her in her final moments terrified me . Still freaks me out .

@@eerieedinburgh That film years ago with Patrick Swayze ? Ghost ! When the bad guy gets killed and those shadow things drag him down 😶She ( my patient ) was describing stuff like that . Possibly a hallucination due to meds or some kind of brain activity before death . However in all the decades I have worked in health care , that was the only patient who was terrified . Most were peaceful some argued a little . She was terrified . Still spooks me .

@@eerieedinburgh I think in the film/movie those shadow things came up through the floor ? My patient was pointing up to the ceiling.Whatever was coming for her was coming through the roof . It was awful . I guess it's important that we be good people in life . Because you don't want those things coming after you 😶 No idea what she saw . I don't want to see that . The horrible man who resembled a demon (I'll have to take the observer's word for that, I've never seen a demon) would give me serious pause. However, I've seen & communicated with dead people most of my life. Except for one angry spirit, that once gave me a shove (we did come to an understanding) all of my interactions with spirits have been either passive or positive. I share my current, property with the spirits of the original homesteaders: we coexist quite comfortably. Waking up to the smell of if baking wirh cinnamon from years ago: delightful.
Maybe because I've never had servants to coddle, or require to greet new arrivals makes a difference. But when I hear a home is haunted, my 1st reaction is not to flee.
My youngest, like me, was terrified at the thought of ghosts when she was wee. Any time she spoke to me about it i'd always remind her if ghosts are real, they would be just as friendly as the people she knows in real life and are nothing to fear.
Pretty much every home I have lived in has had a resident ghost , and all my workplaces ( health care ) . Twice I have encountered seriously negative entities . All the rest have been passive. I can't imagine losing the ability to sense these beings 😮 It's like an extra limb ! Best regards to you 👋❤️

@@99fruitbat94it is like an extra limb yet alot of people think u have 2 heads..Luckily for my own sanity ive had some experiences that have been able to be proven, an existence,something in this world that correlates to another "world" to the point of any way u slice it,it cant be refuted in my mind😊xx ive always thought when we died we might get to know how it all works but ive just realised that if that was the case then there'd be no intelligent hauntings..i dunno. The more u know the less u know..maybe😮

I don't hallucinate , I don't have temporal epilepsy , don't do drugs ( enjoy a glass of wine occasionally ) . I have had these experiences since I was three years old . Born in 1960 . There is definitely something else beyond the parameters of rational science as we know it . Anyways 👍❤️ You aren't alone in this 👋 Absolute best wishes to you .

I remember our old Edinburgh tenement water heater cupboard being referred to a ‘The hot press’. Clearly, ‘press’ is an old term that has fallen out of favour these days.
My husband calls the water heater cupboard the hot press. He puts damp clothes in it to finish drying. It works a treat. (we used to live in Edinburgh, so these stories are fascinating)

Another intriguing account. Great graphics! For some reason, this one especially gave me the heebie-geebies. Here's one question for around @16:00 when there was a large heavy bump around 6:00 AM -- could there be an actual physical explanation to this incident like a subterranean pocket of methane or some other kind of gas? I am not familiar enough with Edinburgh's geological composition to evaluate whether or not this could be possible.

I have been investigating paranormal phenomena since 1972. I have the greatest respect for the Institute for Psychical Research. If there was a "haunting" reported here at one time, what led to its cessation? How long can a "haunting" persist in a given location? What is the longest-standing "haunting" for which documentation exists? These are questions I cannot answer, but believe to be relevant. Suggestions? Please respond.
Most interesting, how each sister's account verified the other. I would have liked to know what prompted their letters -- a family friend asked? Had this person also been in the house or had she heard of it? The house sounds very damp, but excessive moisture, indigestion, and neuralgia do not produce hallucinations. I wonder why the eldest sister had neuralgia and if getting out of that damp house helped? Sir Aurthur Conan Doyle believed in ghosts and now I understand why.
