Best dog ever.
By accident we got a lab Rhodesian ridgeback cross, we learnt quickly to send him to daycare to play all day lol.
I love my Rhosdesian, she is lovely but when we got her we were told she was a lab/hound. when we got her the former owners pretty much did a dump and run on us, which dont get me wrong turned out best as she has never been so happy with 3 walk/runs a day and 3 good meals and tons of attention
Lots of errors here. My male RR is 93 pounds and not overweight. My dogs only need around 40 -60 mins exercise a day (once they adults). After two RRs I've realised the key to training is developing the bond with your puppy. Sit, stay, down commands are easy for them to learn (but they get bored easily). The "come" command only works if you have a strong bond - where else would your RR want to be other than with you.

If possible.... install a doggy door so these dogs may go outside whenever they want. That will relieve their separation anxiety some.
I also recommend that if you do not do outdoor exercises which can include the dog, do not get one of these .
Have a high fenced in area, at least 6 feet high.
They make great guard dogs
Lastly, ridgebacks will take over any couches or chairs 🤣🤣🤣
Mine weighs more than me😅 HE'S HUGE! So a burglar could easily come through the doggy door big enough for my Ridgeback 👀

Yes I grew up with a rodisenrigebak or more nowhn as a rifrig in my kontry of sout afrika and I hawf never seen a mor liol dog in the world
How are they with other dogs? Are males prone to same sex aggression?
My Ridgeback male is almost three years old and the sweetest one with other dogs.

Mine has EXTREME separation anxiety😳 He's a velcro dog. I go into the kitchen... he goes. I go to the toilet... he goes. If I dare to leave him and do something without him he'll sniff out where I was, who I met, what I ate, whom I've been with😂😂😂😂😂😂
