As someone who loves glaive in real life, this brings me so much pain lol.
Great vid as usual, and I agree. I feel like if they buffed it down like, maybe if they gave it long sword slash damage it would be a good weapon
That might be enough, the slashes are basically not even worth doing because of the damage but also they are the attack that is most likely to hit people

This weapon really reminds me of the longsword. It has a fun feel but not good for team objective.

Just bad. All two of the glaive mains out there might say otherwise, but they're too busy dying to knights that tank 4 hits in a row and then heavy overheads once.
Big glaive fan here. Here's some things I like to do for the glaive.
I usually go footman with it so i can charge in like a b hole and can ramp up support with med packs.
It seems to work best on defense, where you are waiting for backup and holding a choke. I can harass 4+ dudes for a while with the counter slash on them or slash spam and keep distance. Then backup comes and you can switch to kill mode, which is crouched overhead over and over and maybe some stab feints. It feels like a chainsaw it's great.
I like to treat it like a knife with longer reach AND it slashes through
Glaives' strengths depends on the class that wields it. For Poleman, they can wield a sword on a stick. The damage isn't as great as polehammer or halberd but for the speed that you get along with the range, you can rack up hits quick and safely. It can also be supplemented by the initial charge which does some alright damage but if you land it you can start the fight with fewer hits needed to end it. On Raider, it's the only polearm for Vanguards and for Raider it gives him a support weapon to use similarly like Poleman. Glaive Raider now has the option to poke or harass enemies from further away with a glaive and if they're being pushed back because the glaive isn't killing fast enough then they can switch to a stronger and shorter weapon like dane axe, messer or two-hand hammer if they fight a knight or footman.
A loadout I like is dane axe with glaive. The speed and reach of the glaive make it a great follow up to a dane axe throw and the chunk of dmg from the dane throw help with glaive low damage.

Good for learning spacing and movement, and more fun than spear imo. Feels honest, and thus rewarding to top score with it. I wouldnt say its a competitive weapon though

Underrated I'd say. It's just the polearm version of the war club and it cleaves. You could also say its a spear with a slash attack. The range is great and the overhead is really fast.
It's more like the pole arm equivalent of the rapier. It's fast but doesn't do much damage.

@@Nuggz1 poleaxe low key slaps, been using it lately, not the best dmg but ppl are not used to fighting it and the special attack is one of the best in the game!

It really doesn’t make sense to me that the glaive is really fast but also does 0 damage. Then again 1 handed weapons are slow because why not. It doesn’t even make sense from a gameplay perspective.

It can't 2 shot Vanguard with any heavy attack. Bad weapon but flashy and fun weapon haha.

When you compare it to all the other options and how you can use those to secure two shot kills, then this weapon looks bad indeed. What is the point of that speed and range when you can't kill things ?
And killing things fast ( preferably more than one thing at a time ) is important in TO. Sure, a beast player like you will reck lobbies with it regardless, but its still a poor weapon.
As you said, why would you ever pick this over beast weapons like halberd or polehammer ? Or all the other options the raider gets ?
It can work in an isolated environment like duels but it's just so much work to hit someone 6 or 7 times to kill them in some cases
@@Nuggz1 Exactly. Especially harder for a weaker player if the enemy only needs like TWO hits to end you.
