The reach is crazy satisfying with this weapon. Been using it to attack people mid animation/windup and it is amazing for this. I think it shines best as a support weapon but it's no slouch on its own either. Probably the most satisfying weapon for 1vX when you pull it off
They should make it so maces and also the staff FORCES enemy to flinch backwards if you hit them in the head. Like forces them to do a duck back involuntarily as they recoil from the headblow.
When I first played against Quarterstaffs I struggled because new weapon = new players = new strats But after playing many games against it. Most players with the quarterstaff usually play the same. I only have issues with this weapon because some of its attacks look like blocks and its blocks look like attacks.
If you watch the last 1v1 at the end of the video you can see just how insanely hard it can get to read attacks from high level players. But yeah most players will just use slash in big team battle which makes the quarter staff easy to beat in the hands of new players.
My opinion: It’s true that the staff is not great at group fight but with sheer light slash spam and with addition of luck I’ve won a 1v3 with the enemy using highland sword, a javalin and a 2 handed spear which are far better weapons for range so it’s not impossible to win 1vX with this weapon but it needs to be really aggresive and cautious fight
Honestly, I personally think the executioner axe makes this weapon kinda useless. Everytime I fought against a quarterstaff while using the axe, it was really easy to beat them considering the sheer amount of damage + the reach. It does the max amount of damage + the extra 25% done to knights and footmen. So the knights using the quarterstaff are kind of rendered useless
As a pub stomper, i was never eye to eye with blunt weapons. Statement goes for this weapon too, sadly. I play chiv2 for 1vX situations. I found my glory there and anything with hit stop on light attacks wont give me that satisfaction quite enough. Yea, i know. I can 1vX with blunt weapons too but too much bother. If the best attack for this weapon is overhead, thats a weakness imo. OHs are the easiest attacks to side step and misses compared to others. Especially you got 50-60 ping and above. I dont belive this weapon is good for dueling either. Fast attacks are usually not a big deal when it comes to high level players. Its actually weakness. You need to mix up your swings, manipulate them. This weapon is fast. You cannot fool a high level player with this as much as you can do wth slower weapons. Stamina you say. Good luck with that in comp level players which %95 of blocks are actually counters. When it comes to high level plays, dps is not a valid parameter. Its actually successfull hits or in high level duels case, managing to drain oppenents stam. Just an example. Fooling an oppent with a 4-5 sec animations weapon like quarterstaff or doing the same with 10-15 sec loooong oh to h-oh war axe strike. Which one will throw a high level duelist off? PPl shit on war axe for example. Always putting in to the mediocre category. I am a war axe main and both duel servers or TO servers, i reck house with dat shit. Its not the weapon you play, its the player. Im sorry im ranting but, im really not liking weapon tier lists for this game. Good effort and thank you.
How is this not a weapon for the field engineer also like it would fit them so well just run around bash people in the head with a stick edit: speech to text screwed it so I unscrewed it
