Various videos chronicling my life with my husband wherever we are. An eclectic assortment of vlogs covering different topics, trips, cooking, exercise etc, for no other purpose except entertainment for us and you all. Thanks for tuning in and I hope you enjoy what we have for you all. Thanks to all who have subscribed and all who are watching.
Congrats on your 1K subscribers. I'm still at 500 and I've been at it for 4 years! I took my pension here in Belgium at 61. It seemed the best thing to do, because if I had waited until 65 I would only have received an extra of €100/month. My dream was also to retire in the Philippines, but I'm not sure that will ever happen since I'm an only child taking care of an ageing mother.
Thanks for the view and your comment. We wish you well in your youtube journey. You have some interesting places you have visited. Have you checked out the touring videos. They highlight famous places with just camera views as they walk along. With very little conversation. some of them are over an hour with thousands of views.
That's our plan too! Will be in Cebu/Bohol next week to have a look around for apartments. Congratulations on the 1000 subscribers!
Good for you guys, and thanks for helping us reach that goal!
Congrats on 1000 subscribers. Keep having fun in the Philippines.
Thanks happenings, good to see you was wondering if you were still out there. Thanks for your encouraging words
I'm a retired business owner and was discussing this with the accountant and his advice was age 62 to start SSI. His main reason was health. When he put the math to it the number was 11 years to bridge the difference. I am now 71 and diagnosed with cancer and his advice was accurate, so I think your is also. BTW I am in great shape according to the M.D. I have been going to the gym since I was 40 years of age and weight is 155 pounds.
Thanks Matthew, for the comment and view. Congratulations on your fitness, last time I was 155 I was a teenager in high school. I hope your cancer is manageable, and you can enjoy your blessing.
@@phbornusnaturalized2342 The cancer is Myeloma so it's manageable. Thanks for your kind words.
That’s good.
I like the way you broke this down quick and simple. I could not agree with you more. I don't care if a person lives in the USA, Philippines or any where else. I don't care if you are in the greatest of health tomorrow is not promised to us. If you are able to get your social security at 62 get it! SS wants you to gamble and wait to 65 or 70 not worth it. Your life is not a gamling event in Vegas.
Amen. Thanks.
Thanks for sharing.. that’s sorta what I was thinking. It’s nice to hear it from someone else. I’m 58, and also want out of this rat race.
Thanks Sam, it’s possible. You have time to think and check out the possibilities, before you jump.
Yes .. I’ve been going there for several years. We are excited to have goals and plans that are realistic for when I retire in a few years. . I really enjoy your channel.. very down to earth and very relatable.
Sounds like you’re thinking straight!
Oops! best 10 years of my life ever
Hope to meet you guys
We’re here. Thanks for watching and commenting.
9 years to go woooo🎉🎉🎉
Jes said “God bless you”. Thanks for watching and commenting.
So you are 53 like me?
FYI social security is different than a pension.
Yes you are correct, sheer laziness for us to call it a pension, but over here that’s what Filipino’s call it as they don’t have Social Security. More of a general term than specific. Thanks for the comment and watching.
I retiref st 47 years old from USAF, w extra VA benefits. In not ready for Philippines retirement. Im here only for 3 months.
Enjoy your 3 months, unfortunately this is the hottest 3 months in all the time we’ve been here. Thanks for the view and comment.
Take it if you need it. Not taking SS is a sweet investment. 8% growth plus COLA is a better return than I can get investing elsewhere.
I loved my career so there was no hurry to escape a job.
The concept of trying to max the amount a person collects from SS is silly. If I kick tomorrow I will have collected nothing but I'm pretty sure I won't give a crap, I do hear this a lot like people are trying to screw "the gov".
You are correct, it’s silly to try to max the amount so it should be taken early, unless like in your case you don’t need it to supplement your income- not a usual situation for most people. Thanks for watching and your comment.
US you can lived long at price pop more medications. pi american dream
Thanks for watching and commenting
You are correct I did it to
Great minds think alike.(at least I hope that’s why) thanks Chuck
That's my plan. Got the sweetest Filipina on the planet for a wife, and our house almost finished in the Philippines.
Where are you guys going? Thanks for watching and commenting.
@@phbornusnaturalized2342 Bicol. Naga City.
Thanks
@@phbornusnaturalized2342 Did you get my response to your question? I don't see it. It looks like commietube censored it.
Yes Bicol, Naga. The other Naga. Sorry I was slow in responding.
Retired 62. Divorced 67 Engaged to a filipina 69 Married filipina 71 This coming June 25th 81 So far, it has been the 10 years of my ever. No complaints or regrets.
Good for you, sometimes it takes a while but when you get there it can be wonderful. Thanks for the view and comment.
we are planning to move to the Philippines, any location you can recommend? my hubby prefer the beach area
Hi Steph, it really depends on what you like. You are never far from any beach unless you pick the middle of the island. Cities offer convenience, provinces offer less expensive living, and country views.
Do you have kids that are still in the USA
And, if yes, how did you know that moving to the Philippines was still for you
Yes, I have children. Jes chose to be a professional woman and has none, but now she can enjoy mine when we visit. My children are all grown, with good lives. I miss them but we communicate almost as much as when we lived there. We pray for them and hopefully will see them when we can.
