Iced Green Tea Latte - Tapioca Bubble Tea Recipe
Ingredients
1 1/2 teaspoons matcha (green tea powder)
2 tablespoons hot water
2 tablespoons acacia honey (adjust the amount to your liking)
1 cup milk
1/2 cup ice cubes
2 scoops green tea flavored ice cream, optional
¼ cup cooked giant black tapioca pearls, if you make bubble tea

I usually get Black Bubble Milk Tea when I get it out. I've never tried this kind before, but they probably have it at the stand I go to. This makes me wanna try it out now, before attempting to make it myself... just in case I don't care much for it.

I accidentally bought "milk tea powder green tea flavor" is it the same thing?? I was looking for matcha green tea powder for this recipe (and Starbucks recipe) and thought it was the same thing but when I tried it, it tasted different

is it possible to use matcha tea bag instead of powder?
you can't because the powder has whole wheat in it while the tea bags only give you clear water. we want to taste the fullness of the tea leaves.

No, you could probably get away with adding whipped cream/ different flavor ice cream or something. But the ice cream is optional, you don't have to add anything.
Easiest way is just buying the green bag tea, add condensed milk, mix it, and enjoy :p

does anyone know where i can find matcha powder in California?
MsPartyrocker Teavana has good drinking quality matcha and if you want to find culinary grade (used for baking) matcha, then Korean/Japanese markets may have it. (such as Hmart) Just remember to use drinking quality matcha otherwise you will get a slight bitter taste when you drink it. Hope this helped. :)

The matcha powder can be a different shade of green. It depends of the brand you get :)
The matcha powder may have been a bit out of date. Fresh matcha looks much greener than that but the main difference in the taste is that old matcha tends to be bitter. I guess the honey neutralises that so it doesn't really matter even if the matcha isn't super fresh.
