Here is a tutorial of making multiples welds with the SMAW process using 1/8" 6010 and 7018 electrodes. I also show you why it is important to limit arc strikes while stick welding and how to prevent arc strikes.

86 looks way too cold for your weld

I am pausing for a very long time to achieve the weld size. This has me going very slow. Time is a large factor of heat input. This just works for me. Others may do it differently with even better results and faster travel speeds
