    Dylan, there is another more flexible (in my opinion) way to create a watermark. After you create it and save it as you describe, you can import it as a brush. With such a brush you can put the watermark wherever you want, you can resize it, turn it and even color it in the Local Adjustments tab.

      Yannis Rondiris, how would you import it as a brush? I'd be interested in doing that.

      @@colinb8512 I usually create a tif file with my copyright information. To do that, I create a docx file using the fonts and style I like; then, I save the file and convert it to tif (there are several ways to do that, I usually convert the docx file to pdf in Word and then convert the pdf file to tif in PS Elements). Then import the tif file to PR2023; File/Manage Extras/Brush Shapes/Import
      To use the brush, go to Edit/Local/Paint with Color and select the color you like. Select the brush shape from the horizontal menu at the top of the page.
      I hope this helps. Enjoy.

      Watermarking has obviously come a long way in Photo RAW in the past couple of versions. I created my own outside of Photo RAW a couple of years ago because I wanted more flexibility in designing one, which I've saved & import as a layer. I might now look at creating a new one inside Photo RAW

    Thank you for showing this. I use your program everyday, but I use Coral Aftershot Pro 3 to do my watermarks. That program makes it about 80% faster then ON1 does. May want to look into that for ideas. Thanks again and ON1 is the best program around for photography. :)

    Great tutorial. Can you ask the design team to allow us to drag and drop the watermark where we want it rather then using the offset sliders? I have trouble getting it precisely where I want it.

      Newbie here, but I did as another youtuber showed and added the created watermark as a filter and could better see and move it around that way. After importing it as a filter I had to click the transform option on the left to make that movable box appear.

    Is there a way of combining an image/cartoon (say a mountain or camera) with text to create a watermark?

    • @ON1Photo
      @ON1Photo  Před 2 lety +1

      Yes! Ideally you would want your image/icon to be a white PNG. Bring that image into your layers pane and position/size into your photo. The Transform tool (V) is great for this.

    Many thanks, Dylan - that made it very straightforward. One question: when I now edit photos, under layers I have a narrow bar with the filename. If I switch off the blue 'blob', I see (I think) the original canvas. Is this something I just live with, or can I hide it?

    For some reason, I cannot get passed the bucket paint to add colour to the background. Its all greyed out, so no matter how much I click on the bucket, nothing happens. In fact everything is greyed out including text and everything on the left and right of the ON1 screen

      Dylan, I doubled the size of the canvas and changed the font and now all good. I did notice that you need to change the size of the watermark if you are exporting with different resolutions, just something to be aware of, just need to use different export presets

    Good tip. I love On1 but despite having a top spec i9 with SSD and 8Gb NVidia graphics it still has a sticky cursor and laggy sliders. I've followed all the instructions from your excellent support team, including CUDA settings but it still lags. Every install of On1 (from 2020) on every computer I've had does this.... I assumed it must eventually be a feature of Logitech mice in the end.... But no, dozens of support tickets later it still has click-pause-wait-action. Sorry to moan, but that's my experience. I will, though, persevere

      Sorry to hear this. We definitely want to improve this. Always good to check the video card drivers. If you're on Windows even though it says drivers up to date, it's still best to make sure you go to the Nvidia website to make 100% sure the drivers are current.

      @@ON1Photo sticky/reluctant mouse was a 90s problem but has been part of On1 for several iterations. When it happened with LrC it was fixed with the next update. I love On1 but perpetually laggy performance does not encourage me. I bought Dell's highest spec PC in April, every other program simply flies. On1 was the only prog I loaded initially and it was laggy from the start on a brand new i9 XPS.... I simply don't believe its just me that can't drag a slider.
