How much boost pressure does the big turbo create do you know :p
I'm not sure how much PSI the turbo will be able to be cranked up to, but this turbo is capable of 700whp on race gas on a 2.5l engine
What is the engine problem and what caused it? If crank walk I’d guess it’s from that DKM. Get you a clutch safety bypass and never worry about that again.

I have love for the 4dr too! The extra convenience of the 4dr is undeniable and sometimes I even prefer its looks. The center caps are cool, I have similar ones on my grey r. Check out ebay for them, just make sure you take measurements and order the correct size! Thanks bro!

Congrats! I was coming out of a parking garage last year after finishing my classes for the day and I was right behind this very R, most likely the previous owner. At the time, it still had the EA113 motor. He did a light acceleration in the tunnel I was heading to and MAN that thing was loud! Glad to see it's still soldiering on!

Yeah exactly. I can just perfectly get the seat into a comfortable position but I won't ever have the luxury of reclining the seat. I'm not sure if this car will truly get daily duties anyway but I'll figure it all out 😁

Also you can get that bug out with a shop vac and some shaking.
Haha thanks Brian. I'm thankful to have this car in my hands. I've had bugs get stuck in the turn signal section of the tail lights but you're right I should be able to shake this one out since it's thankfully up in the running light section
I love that set up. I'd try to find a way to feed that intake with cold air and build a heat shield for it. It looks super clean how it is.
Thanks Bryan, the intake is definitely an area for improvement after I get the bottom end fixed up! I have an idea I'm playing around with that'd be pretty badass
@@FAZEDTom a NACA duct or something to feed it could possibly look nice. Although finding a way to make it aesthetically pleasing may prove difficult.

Thanks man! There are budget ways to boost a 2.5 if you can save up a few grand. It'd be a lot of fun and you'd have a badass car when it's done. I worked a part time weekend job on top of my full time job to have money for car stuff, you got this 💪🏻

FYI, that shift knob is from a Mk7 R. I recognized it from my buddy's R. I think the Mk7 stock shift knob look and feel better than our Mk6 ones.
Looks like a modified Mk7R knob. Took a look at my brothers Mk7R to confirm.

Hey Jordan there's about 900 miles on these forged engine internals so we'll see how everything looks when I take it apart. I know there's cylinder wall scoring in cylinder 5 but that's it. The extent of the symptoms is smoking and misfires, no funny noises though. I wonder if there's a way I can get verification that the internals are in good condition

FAZED with bolt ons and a turbo upgrade they make great power, the n55 the more reliable of the 2 with slightly less power potential.
@@krisabel4681 yeah that's what I've heard. Most of the n54 issues are things I'd replace/upgrade anyway so I'm not sure how much more reliable the n55 would be over the n54 for me personally. I always wanted a 600whp n54 but after having problem after problem with my old golf r in the last year, the idea of a reliable 400+whp n55 is very appealing. What's done to yours?
Try using magic eraser on the tire stickers. I cleaned up a set of whitewall tires that way 👌🏻

Yeah it's actually pretty cool, I just think there's room for improvement. It's a burger motorsports intake but I'm not sure if the filter is BMS too

does that intake manifold fit on the 5 cylinders with hydraulic power steering? I haven't been able to find any manifolds that work with the hydraulic power steering and wanted to hopefully find one instead of having to change from hydraulic to electric power steering. I would appreciate any help.

I ask because I finally found a swap mount kit to put a 07k na into my Audi A4.. I've been wanting to build one from a rabbit and turbocharge it and finally have a 5cyl Audi. Just wondering how good the n/a engine is.
The 07k from a rabbit is pretty solid, very reliable and cheap! They can handle low 400s whp with a turbo kit. The Audi 5 cyls are great but very hard to find and expensive…easier swap though due to them already being boosted from factory

It was part of HPAs turbo kit for a Vr6 I believe. Haven't seen them on an Infiniti but that's interesting!

The new DAZA RS3 engine? They're only available with the dq500 and I haven't seen any swapped to manual

@@FAZEDTom Need to see if HPTuners have access to the 2.5 maps yet, ha ha. My wifes 07 Jetta will likely need timing done and thinking it's a great time to retire the car. Kid can almost buckle himself now so she may be good to go in the Beetle soon.
Did you by chance get any documentation on what is involved in making the new ECU talk to the rest of the CAN-BUS? I imagine something has to change there; the ECU body looks the same, but I anticipate needing to re-terminate the ECU -> Chassis portion of the harness. Swap over engine with harness and ECU (with immo defeated, not sure if they can clone between different box codes) and at that point possibly be able to start the engine.. just really don't think it will play well with the rest of the car.
It does sound like you can retire that 2.5 soon 😏 Hmm hptuners does seem to work on a lot of cars so maybe 🤔 I don't know what's involved in getting the ECU to play nicely with the rest of the car but I believe it's plug and play. I'm guessing based on the CECMs being similar. Every single thing seems to work on my car - kessy, sunroof, push to start, key fob, etc.

Hey Omar I actually bought a 2012 Golf 2.5 a couple months ago! I was going to use it to plan a 2.5 engine swap into my grey golf r, but then I found this car! Stay tuned because I'll be doing a 2.5 swap into a different car and will be boosting it 😉 also I didn't know anything when I got my first car a few years ago 😅 you'll learn a ton just by doing some internet research then taking a whack at fixing things yourself

If you wanna be different and have a car that sounds absolutely dope, keep the 2.5 haha. If you were to simply get a GTI, you'd also miss out on the experience/knowledge you'd get building the 2.5 golf.

What's up Hunter, damn man that sucks. Was the bottom end stock? Send me a message on IG @fazed.yt because the dude who runs the shop I go to does a ton of MQB builds. I can ask him what makes them fail. To properly replace them, you'll probably want to take the crank out which is essentially a bottom end rebuild :/ the clutch bypass harness will help eliminate a lot of stress on the thrust washers, it let's you start the engine without depressing the clutch pedal. And thanks man, I'm stoked to have this R 😁
