and do a full drivetrain swap into my 2019 special edition Golf R! Both powertrains come out, and the 2.5turbo gets bolted into the car! We are on a quest to make the BEST MK7.5 GOLF R EVER!

Oh god, please, PLEASE don’t let Paul throw all the old R hardware in the dumpster yet! It would be epic CZcamsry to see the stripped-down car on the lift, all of the RS parts articulated on the floor on one side, all the removed R parts articulated on the floor on the other side. And then give everyone a quick compare of size and beefiness between the two models’ components. Extra credit if you weigh them. Would make for fascinating VW tv!

I remember watching this guy like a year ago since I needed to see how stuff is done on my EA888g3 in my S3, since then idk why but I never watched again. So glad I clicked on this video, this is absolute gold. Entertaining as hell while learning stuff about all things VAG (looking into upgrading to an RS3 so I love seeing some 855evo stuff). Keep it um man!

Such a good series guys!! I honestly think the MK&/7.5 Golf R's exterior and interior style is so much better than the RS3's exterior and interior. Many people don't like the look of Golf's, and I respect their opinion. I have always thought they looked good, but the MK7/7.5's have some really good exterior lines. I own a MK7 GTI and after many years of ownership, I still come across lines that I have neve noticed, and that make the exterior what it is. The interiors are also so good. Very driver focused, perfectly ergonomic, and have all the tech any car needs. This DAZA swap is going to be so rad and I cant wat to see the final product and see your smiling faces.
You guys are great together. Thank God, Charles is the adult supervision that's needed. 😁

Hoping you guys fogged the engine after finding out it was sitting for a long time after running on E85. Those sleeves get crusty quickly in my experience. I’m sure you’ve already scoped the cylinders and what not to check out everything considering the cost of this engine. Also, was curious if you have seen the Mighty Car Mods series with the VW Up conversion they’ve been doing. It’d be so cool to see you guys and Marty and Moog working together on something one day, despite the logistics. An excuse to write off a trip to Australia as business expense. Enjoying the series!

Boomer here , thanks for the alarm on the battery on the floor! I have a 2013 2.0 T that i have grown to love since i bought it . Thanks for the in process videos. Paul just punch the old engine before you start to get the injuries over at the start. Been there still have fun.

I love what you guys are doing here. Personally I think the Golf R should have come stock with the 2.5 litre 400hp Audi engine from the factory. Fact for all you out there: that engine was voted “Engine of the World” a few years ago. One of the best on the market today!
So was the Ford 1.0L EcoBoost and we all know how that engine went in the real world…
@@YZJBand ppl are still driving 1.0EB and 2.5TFSi. EB only needs oil pickup cleaned every 2/3 oil changes and earlier timingbelt replacement and is good to do every trip :)

Am loving this Golf R Mk 7.5 restoration/upgrade project. Here in the Middle East, I've never seen a yellow Golf R & I think the colour really suits the car.....its a verg special editikn indeed.
Your buddy Juan did a truly incredible job with the extensive rear quarter bodywork repairs & his skills are truly off the charts! Looking forward to the engjne swap with the RS3, along with selective suspension, rear drive & braking componet upgrades.

I hate VW/Audis. I don't just not care for them, I legitimately hate them.
And yet I love your channel. The chemistry, the how-to stuff, all of it. It makes me wish you were into JDM stuff. It also has me almost tempted to get a Golf R of my own. But man...I can't get past the special tools for everything and massively expensive one-time use bolts on everything. Still though...tempting.

This is the only channel I watch where the lift is properly lowered onto the locks after the car is raised and I LOVE IT.
I dream of being able to afford to do this swap in my R. Maybe someday. Super happy I can watch you guys do it, really excited about hearing the result.

I keep a extra long axle bolt in my box to beat the piss out of those stubborn axles. Also just brake those tabs for the intercooler and use a T30 in the middle like the older vehicles.
