In 2004 we traveled to SA, and traveled along the coast where these breaches take place. It is near the southern most tip of Africa where seal island and the early photos of breaches took place. We visited the aquarium there which is where I first saw these photos, BLOWN UP HUGE in the lobby on sale there. The day we arrived in SA we took a cab to our accommodation and the driver kept telling us about this shark they’d spotted coming and going toward a busy swim beach each day and had warned bathers to stay out if the water. They nicknamed the shark “the submarine” those crazy SAs but even they weren’t taking any chances. No swimmers just gawkers wanting to get a good look at the shark firmly from land!

I would love to see some kind of real science or study in this documentaries.... the test they did, at least as they explained wasn't well done.... the seal with the light bars add more of strangeness than just visibility to the decoy, so probably a shark wouldn't go just straight for it, maybe is just too much weird for him to see a seal shining at night?... and about the sound and vibration decoy, they should explain more about how was designed and the specifications of it.... the shark could be attracted to that decoy just because the one with lights was strange, and that one is just more like a seal in the darkness or due the magnetic field that the sound and vibration system creates and not due to the sound or vibration itself...
In addition they didn't explain how many times they repeated the experiment to get any kind of valid conclusion, so for them to make the statement: "Sharks use sight + sound + vibration as main senses to caught a pray" is just... pseudoscience, it doesn't make sense at all.... plain as that.... maybe they are right, maybe they are not... they just tried to show us that they did a research to justify a documentary.....
I love documentaries, but I would like to see real science involved and not just incredible pictures and video mixed with bar-talk.
