The guard isn't just about kickback ... once you have experienced a disc shatter on you (for me it was a flap disc), you won't ever use one without a guard on it ... thankfully the fragment hit my leg not my balls :o
A great video Lee. The safety tips are very good. The same thing that goes for a grinder goes for a chainsaw. I won't get into the details of that story (it was not my story). But you know what you are doing with the grinder. As for the bit sharper, I didn't know where to send it, but a few videos back I thought "He needs a bit sharpener." And yeah, the more impatient you are with your drilling the faster your bit becomes useless. Your boat is going to be extraordinary. It will be nice to see you all in the water again. Good sailing.
15:15 Didn't cover the breaking aspect that comes with running no guard. Keep face/chest out of line with the wheel. I had a large 7-8" wheel come apart and almost imbed itself into my belly.

Why don't you connect the vacuum directly to the sander? And why don't you use a sander like the Festool that gets all the dust right off the surface to the vacuum??

Regarding the Anchor Locker, its best to kill as much of the mold as you can before you disturb it and cause the tiny little spores to go all over the boat. Just spray it with a Clorox mixture and wipe it down. And boys, no more thongs in the boat yard !
Great Job, but...while talking about safety, Welding Stainless with out a respirator is highly questionable. Stainless usually off gases Cr(VI) or Hexavalent Chromium which is highly toxic. Please look after your health Lee.

I also use a face shield when using an angle grinder , someone once described injuries from a wheel that shattered , that was enough for me 😉🍻

Nothing beats knowing your boat stem to stern, port to bow. (I sure hope I said that right).
Put a drop of oil when drilling the holes into the steel.
