My favorite product is TGIN daily moisturizer. I have hair that tangles a lot. If I detangle, and then leave it for a minute, it’s all tangled again. This moisturizer is the only thing that keeps my hair from tangling. This summer I have been wearing a lot of flat twist hairstyles (a week at a time), and when I use this product in the LOC method (the C) my hair is moisturized for the entire week, and when I take down my twist, my hair is soft and detangled. I also like that the jar is super huge, but a little goes a long way.

I use curl mix wash and go system. However, I have low porosity hair that is gray at roots and colored on the strains and coily. I have learned to reverse the loc method. It works, I feel I am missing moisture. I style my hair with twist most days and wash and go in the spring and summer months.
I need some guidance as to what to use and how to maintain moisture, styles, and up keep of my natural hair.

Every product I have ever used that has behentrimonium chloride in the top 5 ingredients makes my hair fall out. It took me years and so many products to notice because I would usually love them at first and then I would notice thinning. What really cemented it for me was that I noticed by accident , I just happen to be using products that did not contain it at all and my hair was thriving and one day I added a new one with it and in about a month I could see the difference in my new growth. So of course I had to give my older products a try again, and every one gives my hair the same feel. I don't know why and no one talks about it and my hair loves behentrimonium methosulfate but yeh I can't use any conditioner that contains it.

If i cant find a sulphate free shampoo, what can i do afterwards to curb the stripping effect? Am not in the states so some of these things can be difficult to find easily. The available options can be quite expensive.

    • @Miriam-bq7kg
      @Miriam-bq7kg Před rokem +1

Same for me, I don't really find sulfate-free shampoo in the store, I would have to order them online. But I use sulfate shampoo. I always focus on the scalp first, and then I run the shampoo down the strands just before I rinse it, so it doesn't sit too long on my lengths and isn't stripping them to badly.
Some people say, you don't have to put the shampoo on the lengths a t all and that it's enough cleansing when it travelles down while rinsing it out. I think, that is something to try out.
I make sure to use a hair mask afterwards to get the moisture back in, and then it's important to use good styling products, that work for you.
If my hair is really dry before the washing process, I start with a conditioner or a pre-poo to put some moisture in, then detangle my hair with that, and then go in with the shampoo and then the mask as third step.
Also, maybe it's possible to find a sulfate-shampoo where the sulfate isn't like the second ingredient, so there's a little bit less in it or maybe a more moisturizing ingredient before it that balances it a little bit on your hair.
Maybe this helps you a bit? 😊
(I hope it's clear what I want to say; English isn't my first language 🙈)

Hi @Brenda Geater, I might be able to answer your question.
Black tea isn't a protein treatment. Because it doesn't contain any protein; as in hydrolyzed, amino acids or even peptides.
However, it's plentiful in caffeine which is a DHT blocker!
The DHT our bodies produce causes shedding of the hair.
If you're experiencing excessive shedding, or even just want to cut back on your amount of shed hair. This would be a great natural remedy!
Also, while black tea doesn't contain any protein it does have strengthening properties!
So yes, this can be a good substitute for strengthening products.
I use it as a black tea hair rinse.
You can do trial & error with this ingredient, until you find your favorite(s).
Also I do believe she has videos up on hair tea rinses, hair loss, strengthening ingredients and shedding!
I hope this all helps! 😊
