Haha, I was an LPN (Licensed practical nurse) during my time n the army. We would sometimes get slack from some people, but nothing too serious. All of the LPNs on the enlisted side of the Army were all medics (EMT-B). So many of us had some form of field experience or training. Infantry units typically respected and took care of their medics, at the end of the day it was one team. Side note, In 2009 at Schofield barracks I made it to the finals in the combatives tournament. Most guys in the finals were combat arms soldiers. I walked in late to the rules meeting in a pink shirt that said male nurse in black letters across the front. The room burst out in laughter, but the main combatives instructor MSG. Corrales told them, “ you guys are laughing now, but he was whooping your asses yesterday.” I ended up taking first place and wore my pink male nurse shirt onto the podium.
They need male nurses trust me, who do you think the charge nurse looks for first when they are delegating tasks to the hardest patients? They look for the male nurses that can handle it.
They didn’t have beef because Josh called him a male nurse. Josh called him a male nurse because they had beef. Not defending Josh’s comments but in the context of trying to get under someone’s skin that doesn’t like you on a FIGHTING reality show, Josh was affective and entertaining. The bully in the movie always makes for good television.

I've had a blood condition all of my life & have experienced tremendous pain and have been in the hospital about a couple of hundred times & the nurses that helped me & all nurses never get their proper recognition, proper pay, their overworked, their treated like shit by a lot of patients, they get "big leagued" by a lot of doctors, & etc. Female & Male nurses. I dont see how a man can disrespect another man for helping ppl in need & who are sick. Josh was a piece of shit. Lbvs. Funny how karma saw fit that the same career that made him feel so superior & arrogant, he ended up losing. Beautifully, if i might add.
