These “high school” kids all look like they’re in their mid to late 20’s😂! Decent movie. Bravo Recap King!
Well it's the hood so, everyone gets held back 🤣
@@mrfoster5184 Bravo sir!🤣
Tough paper round.?
And they have "recess" lol

Love this movie since I was a kid. Showed morals winning over arrogance and money! I appreciate you recapping this hidden gem that not a lot of ppl knew about! Thank you
I saw this in the movie theater 30 years ago when i was 19 years old. Such a good movie. I wonder why the main actor never became a big star?
Not to mention they had some big names in this movie.
yeah its a fantasy...
So glad you enjoyed the recap! It's like we've unearthed a 90s treasure here. Morals winning over arrogance and money - the classic underdog story we can all root for!
It has been at least two decades since I have seen this movie... I first saw it in the late 90s and last in 2001... Good movie... Brian Dennehy, RIP, was such a great villain...
Underrated 90's flick for sure. When i was growing up my dad was a travel agent & the company he worked for(Carlson Travel Network in the 80s-early90s) would send him on a lot of business trips. He was gone a lot but one nice thing was that the company also had contracts with hotels where he would stay that had HBO & VCRs. So he would go do his work & throw one of those 3&1/2 hour VHS tapes in & record the movies on HBO then bring them home to me as gifts. I got to see Gladiator(92), Boyz'n'theHood, the Lost Boys, Jaws... just excellent movies that a kid my age would normally never be allowed to watch. My dad wasn't the best when it came to setting boundaries or helping me with my homework... but he was one of those "cool dads".
Your dad was the real MVP with those VHS tapes! Gladiator (92), Boyz'n'theHood, the Lost Boys - that's a blockbuster lineup. Sounds like your dad was the coolest dad on the block!
The original Gladiator is a 1992. boxing movie, not a 2000. Russell Crowe movie.
🍺
"Pretend your are strong, when you are actually weak. Pretend you are weak, when you are actually strong."
It was about half way through the recap until I realized that I had seen this movie.
I learned the above line, and that the front of the skull at the hair line "is the hardest bone in the body", or something like that.
Sun Tzu Art of War
How does someone forget they watched something?
@@Amor1990 i had forgotten about this movie until i came across this recap, i still remember the getting someone to hit you on the thickest bit of your skull. When i was a teenager there was body boarders v surfers fights everyday at my local beach and this older tough surfer punched me in the nose and then called me to come in to fight him he hit me a few times until he punched me and i put my head down breaking his hand n then i beat him until he was screaming like a girl. then when i was having a shower about 8-10 surfers came up to me and my mate at the showers it felt like there was 20 of them we were shitting our selves thinking we were gonna get a good beating, but they said about time someone put him in his place. This recap reminded me of that and were i must have got the idea to get punched in the top off the head, im gonna download this movie now and watch it
"Pretend you're strong, when you're actually weak" - a solid life lesson! And that skull fact? Random but now etched in memory. Movie lessons stick, don't they?
i had done silver gloves as a kid but given it up. After seeing this movie as a 19 year old in the navy i took up boxing again and even tried out for the olympic team. of course i didnt make it through the first round. Im no mma fighter but boxing has taken care of me my whole life .. great movie
Most kids do golden gloves. I never heard of silver gloves.
@@bradtaylor4765 10-15 year old tournament
@@btd1114 Yeah, I googled it and it actually does exist. I'm old school, though.
That's an amazing story! Gladiator (92) lit the boxing fire in you, and trying out for the Olympic team is no small feat. It's incredible how a movie can inspire real-life journeys.
Thank you so much for your reply. As a 53 year old that seems like a lifetime ago. I have lit the fire in my son (10) just getting started in his journey
I too remember parts of this movie, having watched it on VHS when it came out.
Top cast.
The young bloke was in A Few Good Men and … Twin Peaks right?
Absolutely LOVE this movie. Hidden gem.
Thanks for posting and sharing.
Love this film. It has a lot of soul to it, like it was made by someone who went through all of it.
Totally get what you mean! It's not just a film; it's a journey with heart and soul. A gem indeed!
bro i love your videos keep up the great work
I love this movie haven’t seen it i decades but it’s always stuck in my mind
I have this movie! It's really good and Brian Dennehy, is awesome as usual! He could make you love him or hate him just as much. This is the sign of a great actor. RIP.
I remember watching this one when it came out in the 90s. Good times.
Loved this movie. Thank you.
I remember watching this on VCR, way back in the 90s. One of my favs... Brian Dennehey and Cuba Gooding JR!
I wish they show this movie more on television. Good movie .
Ayyyy Thanks for helping get to know the Software! I just downloaded it in hopes of making resetupes and originals. Props to you for
Just saw a piece of this movie on Facebook. I had never watch this movie. I'm almost 50 years old and I'm gonna watch it for the first time even though I've heard the movie name but not it's contents. I appreciate the way you recapped the movie.
Great recap king 🙌
Omfg this is one of those movies I loved as a kid and almost forgot about until seeing this vid! 👍
Such a classic film. I still watch this a lot.
Great film, good lessons taught, don't look for the easy way out in life it usually ends much worse. Take chances by recognizing first whats at stake. Then be aware that its not necessary to take a chance in the first place. Love is a theme in the film taking a chance at love is never a loss nomatter how it ends. Besides that characters who played Riley & Lincoln got the basics of boxing down. Managers like Horn unfortunately exist.
Love the life lessons from Gladiator! Spot on - taking chances, recognizing stakes, and the power of love. And yes, Horns of the world unfortunately exist, but hey, Tommy showed him who's boss!
I think they should do another film a 30 plus yr reunion or a whole new city under the pressure Detroit, Chicago, Cleveland, Cincinattie etc.
nice recap....never knew this movie existed.
I've told my friends about that movie. As soon as I mention the name, they think its the Roman gladiator movie. When I tell them this story, they are intrigued and want to watch it too. I still have that movie on VHS and still watch it.
"What's a VHS?" asks the young crowd.
@@Zachary77 Very High Strung
Just tell them it’s from 1992, and not 2000. No need to ‘explain’ the movie.
This movie is on CZcams, watching it right now, seen it a few times, first time back when it came out on VHS.didnt know it was CZcams but i came across this video so after looked to seeand there was.
Watch 1991 movie 'By The Sword'. Another underrated movie!! Really good!
Message is very stern and clear, very few gets the opportunity like this to come out of this dirty pond.
Cool recap, love this movie, is oldschool!!! Good boxing movie!!!
Underrated classic movie thats a must watch for any boxing/fighting fan. This movie has the same name as another Big Major movie which is why its overlooked and forgot about.
Sorry but not a must watch movie now, I know everything thing that happens now after watching this video 😆👍
@@kevingodding9316 the recaps are good but it misses alot of good story telling parts you should still watch the movie.
Gladiator.....loved this when i was a kid.. Brian denahay..what a actor...
Bravo recap!!!!!!!
I been looking for this movie for a long time
One of my favorite boxing movies of all time
This was an early 90s classic.
It was a unique idea for a movie having underground boxing matches btwn tough high school aged street kids.👍
The scene at the end of the film dealing with punching the top of the skull, hardest spot on body convinced me to try it out
Best dad ever.
Greetings from Serbia, much respect for tips will use em in rl, great video!
This was a great movie, many life lessons in it. Enjoyed your breakdown of the storyline.
Life lessons served with a side of Gladiator (92) - can't go wrong! Glad you enjoyed the breakdown; there's more where that came from!
One of my all time favourites
I remember watching this when it first came out, a great film sadly unknown by many and never receiving the acclaim it deserved.
Yeah no shit. The fucking uploader couldn't even be bothered to put the name of the movie up to boot.
It's like our own little appreciation club for an underrated gem! Gladiator (92) deserved more spotlight, but hey, we're here to celebrate it now!
I stopped watching this video after 3 mins and just downloaded this film; Gladiator! So well done, you really intrigued me! xD
I watched this movie alot when I was a kid. I had it on VHS.
I absolutely love this movie.
Basically this movie and my bodyguard with Kris Makepeace were my favorites.
Great movie loved it
Word is, dad is still gambling & his kid is dead of CTE.
recap king true legend
One of my favorite movies since I was young. When I search "Gladiator" the other movie always pops up. Lincoln played by Cuba Gooding Jr was my dog💪🏿. Cuba looked like he really knew how to box too
Tommy was in "A Few Good Men".. He was one of the marines on trial
The moral lesson this channel provided about this movie in one word can be described as " hilarious"
Fury kicked your boy Wilders ass
Usyk kicked Joshua’s ass
Lol
I laughed my ass off listening to him explain the moral lesson.
Hilarious life lessons - the best kind! Gladiator (92) keeping it real and delivering laughs along with the punches.
This movie was so awesome!!!
Interesting that it never got a sequel? Maybe that is a good thing? Quit while you are ahead?
Such an underrated movie.
Thank you for recapping one of my favorite movies of all time.

I had forgotten about this movie, It was awesome and loved it when he knocked that POS out cold lol
Never heard about this movie, I'm in will watch it soon thnx
"Sharp weapons"...ahh the 90s...
I love this movie
As my third cousin said "Never worry about offending a Boxer. Worry about offending his BROTHER, the SOB that has a Greener (shotgun) pressed against the back of your NECK!"-Wyatt Earp to Ned Buntline (the "dime" actually 3 cent piece novelist) circa 1890 Wyatt knew this from first-hand experience. He and his three brothers "kept the peace" in many "Wild West Towns" by one of them talking to a drunk cowhand, and three of them walking up on him from behind with shotguns, then hitting him in the HEAD with something HARD and HEAVY before taking him to jail-for $5 from the happy townsfolk! Remember, a good horse sold for $20! A good horse and tack (saddle, blanket, bridle, etc.) sold for $25-30! As the "Mayor" of Liberal,KS said "I don't wanna wake-up dead!"
Love this movie.
It was great to see so many famous actors and how they looked 30 years ago.
I've never seen the movie but I have the soundtrack. There's some great Rock songs, especially from Warrant.
0:56 recess looks more like a music video
oh my...the McCallister's has surely fallen on hard times...
I’ve love this story
Gladiador…underrated … what a classic …
great movie
Great film
Great movie!
Remember this, nice film. Black Death should have realised something was up when they announced his record snd he was incidentally undefeated...
Great movie growing up.
Same thing happened to my cousin, The Duke, at Cudahy High School--Lakefront.
Are you saying your cousin was Tommy "The Duke" Morrison?
Moral of this story is DO NOT STEP IN A BOXING RING.
Nah, the moral of the story is don't gamble.
@@KP-xi4bj Some years ago I was in Reno, Nevada hotel Hilton to participate in a Scrabble championship. One of the first things that happened after booking my room was the hotel giving me 10 dollars of free gambling tokens. I COULD have JUST use those since it was free then if I got lucky with them YAY and if not quit when it runs out but I did not want to go down that path AT ALL so I just walked away without accepting them. Smartest decision I ever made.
The commentary is fucking great! Unintentional comedy is the best

The real gladiator movie in my opinion 😉😃
Is it me or the dude looks like young Ivan Drago?
In the first bit bro looks like he finna rick roll someone
Cool movie …👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
Great movie.
Underrated movie
Moral of the story.. his dad is a knob
Memories
Moral of the story: don't spend your money on gambling, spend it on drugs instead 😉
I spend both 🤦🏻♂️
Nah, the moral of the story is spend all your money on booze and hookers. LOL
Actually, become a two-bit celebrity and they'll give them to you for free.
why even waste money when u can get em for free,be a celebrity
@@toniotrussardi8126 Nah, it's not even free for a "celebrity" because they have sold their soul to the devil. LOL
Probably more truth than fiction about the real fight racket.
Gladiator I'd forgot all about this movie.
In reality you not supposed to bully the lonely kid you know how the story really ends
Ivan Drago lookalike 😁
Tommy had the Nation of Domination's number.
james is a little far from home 🤣
This is such a good story. AT JUST BOXING he would win because he is a prodigy at it and it is his specialty but it would be interesting to see a STREET FIGHT between Tommy Riley and the main characters from the Karate Kid movies and Cobra Kai tv show. Boxing is a martial art and very powerful so I believe Tommy WOULD win against some of the lower tier characters but the top powerhouses like Johnny Laurance, Chozen Techuzi and Mike Barnes would probably win the street fight due to boxing being somewhat limited and the more well rounded martial artists having more tools to work with but at JUST BOXING Tommy beats any of them.
Wow I bet you do karate or some other such nonsense that has no real world application.
@@beardedloon77 as a trained martial artist, I can say from experience that martial arts does work in real fights. It depends on the person using it.
@Zurround! I agree with most of what you said, but, I disagree with Tommy beating Mike Barnes. Mike is a dirty fighter and he will use that to his advantage.
@@AnarkeeSoundVibes I said Tommy wins if its JUST BOXING as Mike would be deprived of most of his moves, not even being allowed to kick but Mike would destroy Tommy in a street fight.
@@Zurround I think you misunderstood what I meant. Yes, a karate fighter would have a limited move set, but, a dirty fighter is a dirty fighter. He'd sneak an elbow in throughout the fight and an occasional head butt. Not to mention, we do throw punches in karate. It's not just for breaking boards and bricks.
if doesnt see this movie i recomended very good
The correct way to do it 🇬🇧
Looks like PFC Louden Downey from A Few Good Men
These 30 year old High Schoolers had recess? LOL
One of the neste boxing movies.
