  • A supercentenarian is someone who has reached the age of 110. This age is achieved by about one in 1,000 centenarians. Supercentenarians typically live a life free of major age-related diseases until shortly before the maximum human lifespan is reached.

Very nice video! But I think you missed Delina Filkins, she was born on May 4,1815 and died on December 4,1928. She lived 113 years and 214 days. What makes her record incredible is that she is the first human to reach the ages of 112 and 113! Her oldest living person record also stood for 54 years, which is the longest oldest person ever record ever lasted!

I don't believe that because no one in those times ever lived that long due to the lack of medical science. If they lived old it's up to 100 or a little more. People who lived 110 or more only happened in the 1970's onwards.

@@Blizmogames1337 The original post implies that Margaret Ann Neve was the last *person* from the 1700's which simply isn't true. Though she was the only *supercentenarian* born in the 1700's who lived to see the 1900's, there are still other cases besides Margaret which died later than her even though they were centenarians. Like for example Marie Perchicot, who died in 1906 at age 106, as well as Augusta Hejnik and Mary Wilkins, who both died in 1908 at age 108.
Why is that so? Because well-documented supercentenarians were simply not as common back then, either due to recordkeeping being available only to the wealthy and upper middle class but spotty or non-existent for lower middle class and the poor, or because they just didn't live as long as they do now.
For now supercentenarians are limited to certain countries in Europe, the Americas and Japan because they have some of the best documentation for the current generation of supercentenarians, though this may start expanding in a few decades with the rise of universal birth registration globally.
