Saw two world wars unfold, the collapse of the European monarchies, spent his adolescence in the roaring twenties and became a young man at the cusp of the Great Depression and witnessed the rise of National socialism in Europe, amazing.
As the interviewer is irish he's surely had no part in creating the questions he's asking. As no Irish person would see those events as important time stamps
such a bad interviewer... just reads questions, doesnt even give him time to answer them fully. just there to get the job done as fast as possible. WRONG PROFESSION MATE
No the goal evolutionarily is to survive long enough to pass on your genes thats why human beings tend to have health problems beyond menopausal ages. Living longer and having the same amount of offspring on its own means a species has less gene variation to survive major environmental changes and therefore overall is at greater risk of dying out.
Damn, my Late Grandfather was 92 when he died and he had deteriorated so much that he couldn’t even speak anymore, and this 111 year old being able to comprehend and make sentences is baffling
My late father in law had two uncles that lived over a 100 years. The oldest who was 102 was so hunched and withered he could barely walk. The other who was 101 was blind. In comparison to them this guy is fit as a fiddle. He could live to be 120.
People at 80 years of age look like theyre 100 and this man looks like hes only 70 god has truly blessed this man's like i wish him hundred more years of a healthy life
I doubt it. Maybe the oldest man to live that we know of in modern times, but not "ever". I'm sure there were plenty of people in the past that lived over 125, but it was when people didn't take reliable records of such things. It's not like every citizen to have ever lived in the past 10,000 years were issued birth certificates and their lives were chronicled up until their deaths, when there were also official death certificates issued.

He keeps asking him about royal weddings and such as if they would have been the highlight of his long life
OpinionDay007 right? Likely the least exciting part of his life
As the interviewer is irish he's surely had no part in creating the questions he's asking. As no Irish person would see those events as important time stamps
1981 was Charles and Dianas wedding, even then it wouldnt have been relevant to him or a major highlight as he was already 73 years old.
I really hope he gets to publish his memoirs, the social, historical and philosophical value of his story is insurmountable.
I hope so to
such a bad interviewer... just reads questions, doesnt even give him time to answer them fully. just there to get the job done as fast as possible. WRONG PROFESSION MATE
I know right. This does not flow like a conversation whatsoever.
Does he technically... win? Like if the goal evolutionarily is to survive then surely he.... wins?
normie twice removed yep he takes gold silver and bronze
No the goal evolutionarily is to survive long enough to pass on your genes thats why human beings tend to have health problems beyond menopausal ages. Living longer and having the same amount of offspring on its own means a species has less gene variation to survive major environmental changes and therefore overall is at greater risk of dying out.
lmao
@ateb3 I wouldn't call living longer than anyone else losing
Wells judging by your idea of the goal it actually means it is unwinnable as he will ultimately die
Not only his looks, his voice sounds so young too!
He looks 90 at the most and with a good bit of life left in him. What a chap
Joe Sheridan nah 80
Damn, my Late Grandfather was 92 when he died and he had deteriorated so much that he couldn’t even speak anymore, and this 111 year old being able to comprehend and make sentences is baffling
My late father in law had two uncles that lived over a 100 years. The oldest who was 102 was so hunched and withered he could barely walk. The other who was 101 was blind. In comparison to them this guy is fit as a fiddle. He could live to be 120.
People at 80 years of age look like theyre 100 and this man looks like hes only 70 god has truly blessed this man's like i wish him hundred more years of a healthy life
I dont think he is wishing himself that lol:)
I get the feeling he’s gonna he the oldest male to ever live, he looks unbelievable for his age
Sadly, death can come out of anywhere, he could be dead by tomorrow by some unfortunate circumstances.
@@sebastianlodge7549 well hopefully not
@@sebastianlodge7549 not is the Corona virus wants to make a huge statement he's not
Maybe, especially seeing how much better he is than the Japanese guy who died.
Every time a person gets publicly recognised as the ‘oldest person’, they die a few days later. Hopefully that’s not the case with him.
😂 😂 😂
Isaac how is that funny mate
@@millyjackson4681 I laugh at the sound of death

Ironically enough, it was a Japanese man who was the oldest man before him.
SouthPlaq and died like 4-5 days before
Yep the UK and Japan provide the best healthcare in the world
@@josephdugdale4150 health doesnt have much to do with it my man, its fully down to the sheer giganticness of this mans penis!
111 year-old but looking like 75, his hearing, his eyes, and his way of talking is so admirable, and most of all...he isn’t bald, he’s got loads of hair. Really amazing!
He looks like my grandad and my grandad is 75 but he's not quite as quick as speaking though but still amazing for his age I also have a great granny who is 100 this year 😄
I think he is bored of all the childish questions
Absolutely. This guy is a walking encyclopedia and he's being asked childlike questions.
He lived through ww1 , ww2 💪 and looks like he is 75..crazy
He was around shortly before the titanic set sailed to its doomed voyage
@@werty21100 Yes, he would have been 4 years old at the time.
@@gerhardvanderwesthuizen842 also now that i realise it he was also around in the final years of the ottoman empire, Germany empire and any other empire that still existed back then
