He's a show off. I watched him and Dan Marino play in a pro am and Bubba tried to play a huge sweeping hook with a 9 iron to an island green and put it in the water. Marino turned and gave him a 'that was stupid' look. If I could hit it like that, I'd probably be showing off too

That second shot was one of the best I’ve ever seen. Bubba has pulled off some miracles in his day. I remember this one live.
I believe Oosthuizen had a slightly better second shot at the 2012 Masters.
Especially with his swing plane! To hit this flush with such an aggressive angle is insane let alone have control and the balls to do it in a tournament!

Driver off the deck is my favorite shot. Nobody ever thinks I'm doing it until they hear it and they're like "was that your DRIVER?"
I was always good with mine off the fairway my partners would always say no way are you hitting driver but I felt confident in doing it, I would actually tee it up quite low as well because if I used those long tees I would just sky it
How many ° loft are we talking. 10 and Id have to agree. But I had an 8.5 in my bag and that one would just produce bananas more often than not!

I was at travelers probably a decade or more ago and was following bubba on a Saturday. Got to 12? there is a ridge where the crowd stood kinda overlooking the fairway and where the tee box is. Bubba put one literally right over all our heads who were standing there, so close I could the hear the wind from the ball as it passed. Most amazing golf moment ever for me.
Bubba can move the ball with the best of them. Shaping his ball flight to the course. Great to see a fellow lefty too!

I am always fascinated how far the balls roll on these courses. If they'd roll like this on my course, I might hit 300 drives too 😅

Fairways are like undulating pool tables, bunkers are like whipped cream on these courses. Bunkers where I get to play are like pavement, gravely sand and all.😢

I've never seen a pro set up so off line to the shot and put it all down to angle of attack based from impact of a ball and utterly continues to swing like a toddler learning and utterly nail it 😳❤️
It makes it all the more impressive that he does it with the back side of his club, imagine how far he could hit the ball standing the right way and using the proper face.

That second shot curved SO much I could actually see it in the video. Normally you can never tell that the bell is curving or going straight etc.

Crazy thing is his shots were even more insane live, tv doesn't translate it. Saw him hit a 350 yrd drive directly carrying a bunker at 300, highest drive I've ever seen. Next drive was a stinger that followed the center of the dogleg fairway, 320 yrds. The most creative player of all time.

That is a 1 in 1,000,000,000 shot and with a freaking driver for that matter. The amount of skill that is required to see where it was safe to drive the ball with just enough topspin it keeps carrying all the way onto the green mear feet away... Jesus that was amazing and also that wasn't close either. He calculated a shot that was like 3 football field lengths away... Just NUTZ man

Oh yeah, the ol high sided bounce. Oldest trick in the book. Banned in some countries, actually since the high side controversies of '73 and '76. A sneaky play, I dare say devious, but completely legal in this tournament.

Just the sound of the ball hitting the club sounded perfect.
Most ppl in the PGA always play safe this was a gutsy play . And it paid off beautifully super hard to be that accurate with a driver BTW.
