Explosion in Prince George, BC hospitalizes 3 people

- Three people have been hospitalized after an explosion rocked downtown Prince George, B.C., on Tuesday morning, leaving one person with serious injuries.
According to RCMP, the blast took place around 7 a.m. local time in an abandoned building at 4th Avenue and Dominion Street. It “levelled” the building and shattered glass in adjacent buildings, Cpl. Jennifer Cooper told Global News.
She said it was “definitely” a possibility that someone else was in the building, but with firefighters still working to extinguish the blaze, a search won’t be possible for some time.
The cause of the explosion is so far unknown, and police have closed the streets in a square block between 3rd Avenue and 5th Avenue on Dominion Street, all the way down to Queensway.

That was a great restaurant back in the day. Lots of great times were had there . Sad the city turned its back on the downtown area. Was a wonderful place, once upon a time.
Downtown is now overrun by crackheads and opioid bums, and I fear that it will never go back to being the downtown it once was.

Yeah, the RCMP just confirmed today that it was caused by vagrants ripping copper gas lines out of the walls.
Building was for sale.

Im sure its a social media trend amongst asronists and vandals. After defacing cities with graffittis now they have turned to arson and explosion and the incompetent city and police are absolutely inept in containing it.

I always appreciate the professionalism and general human demeanor of police in Canada - they look like actual humans, real members of the community. It's a shame that we're exposed to so much American news where the police there tend to look like occupying forces, where you couldn't see a world in which they'd exist in the community as a normal human. I feel like our police must get a lot of unwarranted hate and distrust based on American expectations =/... err though to be clear I'm not stupid I know there are local, institutional and systemic problems in our police and law enforcement for which hate and distrust would be absolutely warranted by... well, as is the case anywhere - any minority but especially indigenous people in Canada... we kind of suck there.
