I've been in the Cary area for a while and my Mom still lives there. It's changed just a bit since we moved there... in those days it had a population of 7,000 and one traffic light (at the corner of Chatham and Academy).
People have also said Cary stood for "Containment Area for Relocated Yankees", a LOT of IBMers were moved down here from New York.
Cary keeps showing up on those lists of best places to live, and for good reason. That little town we moved to has turned into a huge, spralling place, with neighborhoods for just about everyone. Traffic (and especially red lights), can be bothersome, but no more so than a lot of other places, and a lot less than many.
And to pick a about this video, the shots showing the lake and dam while talking about Umstead Park, well that's not really Umstead Park. The lake is Lake Crabtree but it's close to the park, and it's an easy walk or bike ride into Umstead, which is a GREAT park.

I’m accepting a remote role with a company based out of Research Triangle Park and want to buy in Cary. The architecture is amazing, it’s close to RTP, and the homeowners insurance isn’t out of control like in Florida. It is virtually unlivable here in Florida.
