    I have an E1E and E2E surefire i replace the head from lumen factory p60 to e series adapter so you can put a drop ins from p60 host FL and also usea rechargeable 16340 lithium ion battery an equivalent to cr123a. I so love the design and size of surefire.

    Dude, Downing! It’s good to see you man! And on CZcams what’s more! As soon as I found out you had a channel I subscribed! Thanks for the content! I personally have a couple of those lights and actually have the G2 as my edc. And just a reminder, it was a 60’ dive off the coast of Miami. Anyway, keep up the great content. Talk to you later bud!

    1LAA streamlight has been my LEO back up light for my last 2 years on night shift and it is the best flashlight all around i have ever owned

      It’s an awesome light for sure. Small, bright, and cheap to keep running. I didn’t mention in the video but I also love the streamlight stylus pro’s. I have had about three of the 2aaa and one of the 1aaa. My only issue with them is that I keep loosing them. The 1aaa was great to wear on my lapel so I could read IDs and such.

    Can we look forward to a review video on weapon lights? That's a subject I need help with. So many choices and everybody says they are the best and meanwhile you can see 100's of videos of budget lights working just fine. IDK.

      I'll try and have something like that this summer. Are you mainly referring to long gun lights or pistol lights? For now, I'd say it's hard to beat Streamlight's RailMount series for long guns. I have one non-pressure pad light for a handgun that I don't like, and I'm still reviewing the Surefire Scout CLONE. I'll have something here before too long.

      Sorry. I should have been more clear. Long guns is my area of concern. HAHA, I haven't bought a hand gun in so long ,I don't even have one with a rail ! HAHA !

      @CalebDowning  Před 6 lety

      I hear ya. My last “pistol” was the CZ Scorpion and before that was the SW Shield which doesn’t have a rail either. I’ll get a long gun light video put together this spring or summer.

    What ever happened to the Surefire clone?

      Good question. It is still going and I will be doing a follow up video on it.

    Bro find a lx2 head and lumens factory tailcap that’s styled after the tactician, use a 16650 cell. You’ll have a basic Surefire with good run time same size as your e2e it’ll fit what you missed

    • @CalebDowning
      @CalebDowning  Před 3 lety

      👍

    • @AKseries1
      @AKseries1 Před 3 lety

      @@CalebDowning i've been running my E2E with a E1D head as a beater light but the LX2 head throws just a little bit more, with a lumens factory tailcap it just operates on high mode. Definitely a viable option. Or get any head that runs on a e1e platform, and use it on your e2e body.
      awesome videos, take it easy on the fingers man. ;)

    The surefire Tactician has turned out to be the best light out there in my opinion... 800 lumens one touch and 5 lumens for utility.. best belt clip around.

    • @CalebDowning
      @CalebDowning  Před 6 lety

      My only beef with the Tactician is that it only takes the regular lithium 123 batteries. If it used the 18650 then I think I’d go for it. I have just recently been made aware of 16650 batteries...these batteries are the same size as two regular 123’s but are rechargeable. Depending on how they hold up and work with different lights, I may end up getting the tactician before too long.

    • @johnnyvasquez4605
      @johnnyvasquez4605 Před 6 lety

      I just ordered a 16650 battery for mine. However, I ordered it "just because" it works from every source Ive searched. Im hearing 2 rcr123 (3.0 version) volt batteries are working as well.. I ordered a 12 pack of surefire CR123 batteries for my Tactician and carry two spares with me. I just dont see the need for a rechargeable battery in a self defense type EDC light... but I do like the novelty of it..

    • @CalebDowning
      @CalebDowning  Před 6 lety

      Let me know if the 16650 works in your tactician. For me it’s a money thing to use rechargeables. If you can get a similar performance with a rechargeable power source then I don’t see why folks wouldn’t jump on it. The only complaint I’ve heard is that when the rechargeable batteries go out, they just black out and are done, no dimming just quit. I personally have not experienced this though. Even if that was the case, it could be very easily fixed by charging your battery once a week. I don’t know...I’m sure there’s other reasons people don’t like rechargeables but I just haven’t heard any good reasons not to use them. But definitely let me know how they hold up in that new Surefire 👍

    • @johnnyvasquez4605
      @johnnyvasquez4605 Před 6 lety

      Yes they worked fine although seemed slightly dimmer, However I just called Surefire and asked them personally if the tactician would take rcr123 batteries at 3.7 volts. They said absolutely! They said 3.7 rechargeable were fine but stay away from the cheap 4.2 knockoff batteries because they were unreliable. So I ordered some quality 3.7 RCR123a (based on reviews), should be in tomorrow.

    • @CalebDowning
      @CalebDowning  Před 6 lety

      Nice, I may have to start saving up for that Tactician soon then. I don’t know why they didn’t just make it so it could use the 18650’s... I’m kind of hoping they come out with a 2.0 duel fuel version. It’d be interesting to see if your new rechargeables work better or the same as the 16650...

    500 lumens is plenty bright...That stream light 2 L looks pretty solid to me....

      @CalebDowning  Před 6 lety

      It is defiantly solid. It’s hard to find much wrong with the 2L 👍 Time will tell how she holds up.
