Just finished my 6 month isotretonoin treatment and my skin looks like glass, smooth like butter and not a pimple in sight. This is my second round on this medication. Side effects I got were dry lips, back pain, headache and joint pain. Always wear sunscreen during the day and avoid the sun. Accutane is a Gamechanger❤

I am so happy I run into this video. I have been searching for a video on accutane with a melanated sister like me. I am almost done with my month 2 on accutane and i definitely see that my face and neck have gotten atleast 3 shades darker than the rest of my body. I have not seen anyone talk about this side effect. I was wondering if this is reversible? And is there anything i can do during my accutane journey to minimize this effect.

Currently i am happy that my acne is kind of being sorted by accutane but at the same time the face darkening caught me off-guard! Its good to get some reassurance that this too will pass after I’m done with the medication. I am am also staying on top of my journey by recording weekly updates and plan to have an accutane series on my channel. Just like your channel id like to have this accutane experience out there to give hope and information to another melanated girl! Especially with the skin darkening heads up that almost no one talked about.

Did the acne scars just fade away while you were on accutane or did you do anything to get rid of the dark marks . Your skin looks amazing. I am on my first month 🙏🏽
Thank you! And congrats on starting it 💕. The acne scars did fade away during Accutane. So what happened, my skin got extremely dark so because it was so dark, I couldn’t see the acne scars. But when my skin got back to normal, the acne scars were gone. During the process of getting my skin getting back, I used the products/medication cream that my dermatologist recommend. It’s a cream that they give you to lighten your skin back up and that’s what helped the dark marks fade too.
