    Beautiful work, how long do you let the slabs sit before you start to put things together?

    I recommend any stoneware clay fired to cone 6 for durability. You should be able to purchase a range of colors from any ceramics supply store. If a northern Virginia location is useful to you, let me know.

    Beautiful job and gorgeous planter. I wish I could see the ending steps. Will this be an unglazed pot? I'm guessing from the color that it will be unglazed. PLease continue making these kind of videos. We learn so much and enjoy them!

    • @aaronstratten9594
      @aaronstratten9594  Před 6 lety

      Richard Robinson these are just cut paper that I make to decide what I want to make. The possibilities are endless, and the pattern you use should meet the needs of the tree you are building for. If you have access to a kiln, I recommend giving it a try!

    I need that pot Very nice. How much?

    • @aaronstratten9594
      @aaronstratten9594  Před 6 lety +1

      Greg Marquis, as a matter of fact, I had to borrow a larger kiln to fire this. Mine is too small. Considering what it would take to build another, I would have to ask $220.

      @@danielcuison I would be happy to work on a custom job, but give me lots of time (or better, no deadline). Ceramics comes after family, a demanding job, serving as president of my local bonsai society, and caring for my own bonsai collection.

    • @aaronstratten9594
      @aaronstratten9594  Před 5 lety

      Muhammad Khozin I use stoneware clay to create these bonsai pots. You may have clay/ceramic supply companies from which you can purchase clay.

      @@MAZArt-vn2ek I fire the pots in a kiln. It is possible to use a wood fire, but you will have to do some research to figure out how to do this successfully. Good luck!
