Great video and explanation! I have a few of your pots. I inherited them from Peter Adams' wife Kate, that passed away about 4 years ago in 2020. They are my cherished pots and it's quite fun to see you in the making process.

Your videos are stellar. Your actions while working on the pots are very calming. Can’t wait to see your Bonsai in your pots!

Thanks for your time and effort to show your expertise. I'm an amateur potter, and you have given me lots of tips and ideas with your videos.🤜🏼🤛🏼

Wow, lots of info in one video, wish I saw how you built that pot, carved or slabbed, I am mostly building Mame and Shohin pots

95 % of my pots are "coil" constructed. I very rarely make slabbed pots and only occasionally carve pots.

Dan, I love your videos! Thank you so much. I love the qualities of your clay body. It seems to be coarsely grogged. Am I correct?

Hi Nathan, yes the clay that I use is a Potclays product: Craft Crank 1114 and is fairly heavily grogged by the manufacturers, not me.

Wow. No slip just plain water.

    • @danbartonslifewithbonsai745

That's right - the way I've shown you with the scratching creates its own "slip" when the water is added and the foot is rubbed down and vibrated on the base of the pot.
