- Here's why it's important to check and maintain your Dremel brushes.
I didn't realize everyone and their mother has made this video, but here's my take. Your Dremel / rotary tool isn't working well? Check the brushes. Replacing the brushes on rotary tools (or most at least) is super easy and important to keep them running as they should. It's not a bad idea to invest in a couple before yours wear out so they're there when needed, and purchasing them isn't hard at all via calling Dremel customer service. Also they're not expensive; probably $7-8.
This should work for any Dremel; Dremel 8820, Dremel 4000, Dremel 4300, Dremel 3000, Dremel Lite, Dremel 7300, Dremel 200, Dremel 100, Dremel 7760, etc.

Wear a mask, eye protection, and hearing protection, and consult your tools' manuals prior to using them to ensure safety. This video is for my insta @logscarvingclub.
If you're looking for more wood carving designs and videos, I recommend watching the video where I carve a greek paddle with a Dremel 4300. I use Walnut, Poplar, and Epoxy! The epoxy was a hassle but came out really cool. - Jak na to + styl

Mine were seized in the slots. Chipped them out. Bought new brushes and it started to spin then stopped and smelled like it was burning. I'm thinking 100 bucks on a dremel is wasted money. I could go through 3 off brand tools for price of one "dremel" brand.
Same problem here ...
I have a Ferm combitool CTM1010 and the brushes are gone and I can’t find them ANYWHERE they are 11 x 4.5 x 5mm. Anyone help?
How could we help when they are lost? Buy more or look around? 😂 😂
I have a Dremel 8100 that cut out more and more and now doesnt spin at all. But it doesn't have the easy caps to remove, do I have to dismantle all the Torx screws to replace its brushes?
Hi - Sorry, I have the 8220 but I'm not familiar with the 8100. I would look around elsewhere online or perhaps call Dremel customer support. Usually they're very helpful over the phone.
@@LogsCarvingClub Dremwl says the 8100 is not user-serviceable, and Dremel mail-in service won't repair this model discontinued in 2016. They offered to sell me a refurbished 8240 for $75.
I have unscrewed mine with a torx head and if I can figure out how to unclip the halves I'll see if there's anything obvious I can clean or fix, but I'm not hopeful.
Mine stopped working and I wondered if this would be the issue. However, I've only had it for maybe 2 years and used it maybe 6 times....for DIY projects. So do you think the brushes could wear out that quickly in such a short time?
If you haven't used it much I don't think the brushes are the problem. These tools can be finicky sometimes. I had a couple die on me unexpectedly but luckily they were under warranty so I had them replaced. Any luck since you commented?
@@LogsCarvingClub Still dead. This is the 3rd one that has done this. I'm just a DIYer so I don't use them much....buy em, use em a few times then next time I pick it up to use it it's dead. I'm beginning to think they are just cheap and I should go with another brand
Help. Girlfriend has the 4300. Thing stopped running so I figured it was the brushes. Well the spring came out but not the brush on both side's. How do I get them out without taking the machine apart. Bought it at Lowe's and the have replacement brushes there. It's like 2 year's old. Thank's Paul..
I haven’t had that happen to me before… you could try to disassemble it but that risks totally screwing it up. Maybe try calling dremel customer service? They’ve been helpful for me before, especially when under warranty
I took it apart. Brushes were about disintegrated. They fell out in pieces, lol.. Anyways order some new one's. But Awesome Video. Thank's for the Help, Paul...😎
@LogsCarvingClub I just received My New Brushes for My Girlfriend's 4300. Put them in and it back together. Machines working like a Charm.. Your Video was Very Helpful My Friend... Thank's Paul 😎
My Dremel is getting loud and vibrating like crazy, do you know what the problem is? I have two of the 4300.
Are the brushes okay? Other than that not sure what it could be
If you replaced the brushes they also might take a while to sit properly so it may feel weird for a while
@@LogsCarvingClub they have a curve in them
It is strange that brushes don't work even if they fit
It may be a different issue then, same thing happened to me so I called customer support and they repaired my tool
