    In reference to the discussion of a Water Supply Officer, I agree that it is important to have a WSO from early in most incidents.
    I 100% disagree with Andy's view (respectfully) that it be the Driver of the Dump Site Engine. I have total respect for Andy's knowledge and background, and have learned from him. I simply disagree with this point of view.
    In my opinion, an apparatus driver, should only be used in this role as a last resort. It needs to be someone who knows water supply, but is not committed to operating a rig at the incident. Too much for the dump site PO to do and monitor, to have to be the overall WSO. The OFFICER of the WSO is often a good choice.
    In most of our area(Maryland), the initial WSO, is the officer of the 1st arriving tanker. Not set in stone, tanker may show up driver only. But it's a good place to start.
