PORT TALBOT PARKWAY STATION on 21st July 1987
Continuing with my archive of video recording between the years of 1986 to 2001 this clip is of Port Talbot Parkway Station taken on 21/07/1987. I hope the video takes you back to this period with fond memories. Feel free to comment, good or bad, all comments are read and greatly appreciated, but it is not always possible to answer each individually. Sit back and enjoy this latest production remembering all those now long gone Locomotive classes and other types of traction. Many thanks for all subscriptions and all of those viewers who have kindly shown an interest in my material.

Seeing 47625 at 4:50, reminds me of this loco being a first; it was the first class 47 to be painted in the BR Mainline livery, with white numbers, basically the old Intercity unbranded livery but no yellow cabsides. This was done in January 1989 at Doncaster, and the loco lost its nameplate as a result of gaining this interim parcels livery.

That HST which is featured at around 7 minutes looked like it hadn't seen a wash for a month, certainly the front it......

One of the striking main differences between then and now is how absolutely knackered and filthy the passenger trains look. They do seem to keep them a lot cleaner now which, to me at least, makes the railway look a lot more like a "winning" concern than it did then.
