People in Bavaria speak very similar to many people in Austria whereas Germans from the North Sea hardly have anything in common with the Bavarians. i heard that when he once offered to dub his own films in german, he was told that his german accent made him sound like a farmer, and they refused to allow him to do the dubbing. shame, he's always come across as a nice guy; farmer or not. lol
They used to dub him in English too!
Could you imagine him as a farmer? The whole of Austria would be tilled in a day!
Heres a couple of acres
@@artygunnar beat me to it damn !!
Thanks so much for the upload! I always was curious to hear Ahnuld speaking German. I was cracking up in that first clip, hearing that "fantastisch" is one of his favorite words in German, just like in English. On the flipside, it was interesting in that middle clip to hear him speaking way faster in his native German than I've ever heard him speak in English (which I guess to some extent, you have to do in German, due to the higher number of syllables).
Woah! I have been watching Arnold movies since the 80's. It's 2019 and this is the first time I heard him speak in his native language.
According to Google, "Get to the chopper" would be "Geh zum Hubschrauber" in German.
No shit Sherlock
The german dub uses "Helikopter" instead though.
Thanks. Now i have to put predator in the player & put the german dub on.
thats true google translate...from I bought my dream car is in German i bought my dream house nice job google😂😂🤦♂️and yeah...I speak german😂😂
@@silentgame99 dude ,what?
He speaks with an Austrian good old mountain boy accent
The accent, the physique along with his strict discipline he used it to his advantage. Actor, bodybuilder, and statesman. Very impressive achievements.
Arnold is my favorite actor ever and me just now for the first time seeing him speaking his language is insane.
Sounds exactly like his English
lol
+sanpt7777
yeah true because of the austrian dialect, the area he comes from has some features that are also present in english...
also, by now of course he now has an english accent when talking german.
***** Lol he has an English accent when speaking German and a German accent when speaking English
It's like I can understand everything he's saying because I'm so used to his voice
The rural Austrian accent is strong with this one. He is not even speaking German he is speaking Arnold.
At the beginning he sounds like someone pretending to talk german
"Ist ish fantastish" 🤣
Es ist fantastisch
Actually the situation of the different german accents(German,Austrian,Swiss) is very comparable to English. English english, Scottish english, Irish english, Welsh english, US english, Canadian english, Australian english, New Zealand english and South African english all sound different from each other. I think the closest comparison to German german and Austrian german is English english and Scottish english.
True words have been spoken ;)
+but can you do this What
Austria is Germany's Canada.
theosr vervloet 👍👍👍 exactly
We have many other Accents in germany we have bayrisch, schwäbisch ,hessisch, sächsisch,phälzisch, Norddeutsch etc
It sounds like he's speaking English but just with a massive slur. X)
hahah yes
Now, how's your German?
FichDichInDemArsch sagte der mit dem deutschen namen....was willst du lauch?
UltraJordanGaming lmaooo
English language has a lot of similar traits as German
After an endless sea of Arnie movies, I'm THIS close to cracking the German language code without ever having received any lessons in it! Amazing!
36 years old. Been an Arnold fan since I was old enough to watch movies. This is the first time I've heard him sprechen ze deutsch.
I studied German for 3 years in school long time ago but I never learned much cause my mind was always somewhere else and all I wanted to do was to go home and play video games, but for some reason when Arnold speaks in german I actually understand at least 50% of what hes saying, when the other people speak I barely get anything lol. Being a Swede surely helps aswell
it has to do with the dialect. Österreichisch has a lot of sounds that regular german doesn't, but that are common in scandinavian or dutch.
KASENSHLOGA!!!
Kassenschlogga!
My 2nd favorite Austrian of all time.
I can listen to him talk ALLLL DAYYY!!!🥰✨⭐✌️💚
Why do I feel like I understand what he's saying even though I can't speak a lick of the language? lol.
The same effect is even more profound if you listen to Dutch.
German, Dutch and English are all part of the same family of languages but he says a lot of English words in these interviews
Robert Warren Gilmore GET TO THE CHOOOPPAAAA
No. Get to zee chopahh
english is a germanic language but definitely not a germanic dialect. english vocabulary is 60% romance
Thanks CZcams algorithm, I actually enjoyed this recommendation.
His german language is rly relaxed and nice listen to
When he speaks English he sounds like he is holding back on the German but when he speaks German it's like he is holding back on the English.. 😂😂😂
i love the way he talks. it seems like he's drunk af and on the brink of throwing up
WoW 😳😳
legend arnold always makes me smile
I wish Arnold made more films where he spoke in German it sounds awesome especially coming from him.
He’s just saying “ I’ll be back “ and “ get to the chopppaaaa “ in German.
"Show Me Your Papers" coming from a muscle bound Arnold Schwarzenegger is even scarier.
Wow. I was born the year he did this interview. I've known him since he pulled his eye out in a dumpy apartment. I've never heard him speak German...just wow!
Arnold speaks German beautifully. It's a pleasure to listen to him speaking German. It's so mild and smooth. Another guy whose German pronunciation I enjoyed was Helmut Kohl.
There will never be anyone as iconic as Arnie. God bless him
@Zac Atkinson Hahahaha

i never actually heard him speak german
Today he hardly speaks German anymore.. and well he hardly speaks English lol
+Luke Deed the struggle is real :D
And how do you know that? Do you live with him everyday to know whether he can speak his native tongue or not?
Language isn't something that you forget, language the you learned in childhood
He speaks arnish
He probably thinks in German, which means it is always active in his mind.
@@chunkylilpeanut Hardly doubt that is the case, maybe something else played a role in that. A language is not something you simply forget, not when it is your mother tongue. If you have any evidence behind this statement, I would love to read it, because it would be very interesting.
The Austrians are like the Canadians to Americans to the Germans
and what is that ?
That's correct. If you leave out the language component. And the history. And the country size. And the north south thing. But yeah, politically speaking it reminds me of the Canada-America relationship, too.
nope. germans and austrians are like americans and texans. the only difference is that to that moment (2017) austria isn't a part of germany while texas is a part of the US.
Austrians are Germanic nation
Kanada is better then USA.
Austria is better then Germany.
So yea kinda.

This video was posted in 2007. Why is it showing up in my recommended in 2019??? And yet here I am.
0:59 Absolut wahr.
Du bist einzigartig Arni ❤❤❤
This whole time I forgot he spoke german.
Wow he speaks way much faster.
I just want him to say “ Nein “ repeatedly
In Austrian we dont say "nein" we say "na"
@@der_fussballgott in England, we often say "nah" too, lol

@@nachofish4477 Austrian isnt German but Arnold is speaking German with an austrian accent in the video
his german in the first part is beautiful
I always wanted to hear him speaking german.
Watching him here and seeing later interviews, it appears as though his German degraded tremendously.
+GameleErik100 - I'm guessing you don't speak multiple languages nor do you hang out with people who speak multiple languages because practically every multi-lingual speaker combines languages in their rhetoric.
I speak 3 languages and yeah, sometimes I can't find the word in my native language, so I'll say it in English or French, just because I either forgot, can't recall it, it's on the tip of my tongue or I never knew the word because I never talked about that topic in my native language.
I can speak English and Spanish. When I use my mother tonge (Spanish) sometimes it s difficult to try to form phrases because in English is all more simple and direct. I use a lot of expression in English and words when I speaking to my family. However in English I don't use Spanish words at all. It just no practical.
I've got a friend here in Germany and he says when he talks to his uncle in Canada on the phone in german language his uncle always speaks with an english accent because his uncle is living in Canada for more than 20 years now
its the austrian "roughness" which is irritating for some even for native germans
I've been familiar with Arnold Schwarzenegger for over 30 years, and this is the first time I am hearing him speak his native language.
Even in German Arnold still has an accent.
Many natives in the German-speaking realm actually speak standard German almost as a foreign language. I have noticed this among Swiss, Swabians, Austrians, and others.
For many years, dialect was looked down upon and many Germans now only speak standard German, but they in Southern Germany, Austria and Switzerland are proud of their regional dialects and use them often in everyday stuff.
This just shows how special of a voice Arnold Schwarzenegger has.
Fantastisch
Surprise, surprise, Arnold's voice has muscles too.
Think this is the first time i have heard him speak German 😁
Yes, i knew he is from Austria, but its realy very first time i see how he speks in german.... oomg
Arnold is Awesome !
The way he said Terminator was like "Germanator"😂
living in Germany for 6 months = able to understand 90% of these interviews
Minkki82 yes very haha
Simple Jack lol he is born in austria. Of course he has another accent compare to german cause austrian german sounds like total differnt :)
