I use Aperture priority. Set my ISO to auto with low of 200 and max of 12500 ( my high is 12500, anything over is too grainy) a minimum shutter speed of 800 and perfect pics every time. It shoot with Nikon D3s Sometimes I’ll go to 1000 shutter but 800 freezes BB pretty good If u can add strobes great but most amateurs are not strobing their games
Ik it's a bit late, but remember, shutter speed controls how blurry an image is. Your F-stop is how shallow your depth of field will be. And your ISO is holding out a bucket and taking in more light, at a cost of noise and grain. And that makes up your exposure triangle.
On Sony you can go to A-Mode, SET your ISO Auto-Range and Aperture and then you can set the "ISO AUTO min. Shutter Speed" for different Lighting Conditions on the Location. Then you'll always have a fast SS which is important for Sports like Basketball or Soccer. For Soccer I always go with min Shutter Speed 1/2000. On the A7IV you can crank the ISO up to above 6400 and it will look usable
1/2000 for soccer? I think the highest I went was 1/1000 for kicking stills. I think you can slow your shutter by a half stop at least to allow more light and still be crisp.
That’s great thanks :) I just shot a dance performance the other day and the slowest that looked good was about 400th of a second - had wide open at f2 and let the iso ride all the way up to 4000 a few moments at 6400😊
@@BrianBoschewhich lens do you use for sports. I am currently using a Nikkor 55-200mm and a Canon 70-250mm on a D60 and rebel T1i. Though both have been retired from service and looking at upgrading to a D7500 and Canon mirrorless I think the R50
@@BrianBoschesorry meant the canon R10. Basically each camera has its role when I am on a job. Sometimes it really just comes down to what I feel like using at that particular time or what I am after. I find canon has better dynamic range and more vibrant colors. But the Nikon out performs the canon in sports and portrait photography.
High school gyms have terrible lighting!! I am always stuck with 1/500s shutter, f2.8, and around 3200-10000 iso My gear is the Sony A1 with the 70-200 f2.8 which thankfully these low light conditions aren’t much of a problem.
Personally I got fuji xt100 to start with then soon followed up with xt4. Honestly get something that you will easily take with you to places and take photos with it. With time you will realise what you enjoy and before you know it you will go down a rabbit hole of finding the perfect lens. In the end, you can take poster worthy photographs with any camera.
So I’m a kid that is getting into photography, and I mostly go to my local international airport and do planespotting (my profile picture is one of my photos) and I am looking at the Canon EF 70-200mm f/4 L USM for my Canon Rebel T3 that has been sitting in our attic for about 5 years and I also do photography for people at my brothers track meets and I was wondering if you could give tips for higher aperture lenses on sports photography
What would you recommend for shooting fast pace moving people( running jumping etc) in a horrible lighted space, If I use ISO 1000 it’s still really dark
Make iso low then make aperture wide and shutter speed high because of moving shots then if you fell dark then turn up your Iso but dont do too frequent because its add noise
any good cameras bodies you recommend that won’t break the bank ? everything shoots 8-11 fps and I feel like that’s too slow, looking for something around 2K
I could never get away with ISO 1000 for basketball. High school gym lighting is terrible.
Haha yeah I’m spoiled with the lighting in the Copper Box Arena.
I'm usually pushing 6400 or 8000 😭
@@jon_is_nerd1730 dxo photolab noise reduction can help with that high iso values. Works wonders
Lol I was just thinking the same thing
Facts
that lighting must be so nice
Yeah The Copper Box is great
indoor sport must use good lightning duh
Lighting must be awesome in that court, lowest ISO ive been able to shoot in a court is 3200 😭
Haha yeah the Copper Box Arena in London is amazing. Most gyms are DARK.
that might also be because he has a more expensive lens and can drop the aperture down lower
@@ryanparker8966 it's still a 2.8, i havea canon 70-200 2.8 and still have to set it to at least 5000ISO most of the time
Damn that's a dark court 💀 how are your pictures not grainy shooting at above 3200 😭😭
What lens is that ?
Hell yeah! I run a a7iii as well. That 800-1000 iso indoors is the truth. 🔥
I have the same cam, I'm a total newbie. I gonna try today at my son's basketball try-out
Shooting a 3x3 game outdoors tomorrow and remembered this video. Wanted to check out the shutter speed you used for basketball. Keep up good work!
How did it go
Wow that dynamic range is incredible my friend. You earned a new sub. How is the rolling shutter for action photography?
Thank you! I’d say it’s pretty good for a mid range camera.
Its basketball not golf m8
It's basketball not nascar or formula 1
Thank you so much for posting this. So helpful! Your shots are great. :)
Please do a post editing tutorial videos, i love this look
Your content is a breath of fresh air! Love the creativity and attention to detail. Keep it up! 🌟

You can rent that lens or camera

Very accurate great video Nice Gear!
Thank you!
ISO sensitivity varies from brand to brand for the same value.
thats pretty solid, now i just need to figure out how to go in my camera and change these lol,
Haha you got it!
Damn the lighting must be really good. For me to get a shutter speed of 1000 I'm around a 4000 iso on my Canon R5
It helps to have a superbright full sensor Sony A7 III, of course.

really you need 1/2000 for Soccer? i take 1/1000-1200 for icehockey with the A7IV Iso 1000 f2-2,8
Good tip! I just like to control my ISO to reduce the noise. I'll have to try this though.

good and thanks to this sequence
how can I get a camera lik yours?
I wish I had a lense like that. Wow
Ok but that one handed portrait hold with that lens 😂
That lens though 💥💥 what body do you use man?
I don't know much about regular photography, but I shoot at F5.6 during the night to get astro images ☄️
2.8 is a super good lens tho 😂 I usually shoot at 6.3
Yeah it works so well for indoor sports.

Which camera do you have? What do you recommend for someone who wants to start shooting some sports photography?
Do u have a preset for editing? I would want that because it's so freaking nice
What is the focal length of your lens, crispy shots
70-200
Just like my camera missing eyepiece
I used iso3200 for D1300 depends the lights if they used 2000 watts u can used lower iso
do you do stage photography too? if so, what settings are suitable for it?
omg ! what lense are you using?
What camera are you using ?

What is the correct settings for my lens F4.5? Thanks a lot
cool photos, whats the name of the track?

Those are fire 🔥

My boy marquis Teague!
Im more impressed with auto focus. Im still using dslr and i get so many out of focus and blurry shots
which camera do you use for that ?
what camera did you start off with when you first began
Also tell about the lens u use with these settings..
i was there!
What lens do you use?
70-200 mm
Where did you edit those photos?
Wat camera and telephoto is dat?
What do you recommend using for outdoor sports such as youth soccer we have a Sony a7rv
ISO 1000 for indoor sports even pro is crazy good bro I’m at iso 4000 min
I can use the same for videos ?
What lens is that? 👀
Nice shots 👌🏾 which app do you use for editing?
Thanks! Adobe Lightroom
Why did you add a little cold fade to them?
Make iso low then make aperture wide and shutter speed high because of moving shots then if you fell dark then turn up your Iso but dont do too frequent because its add noise
I think it actually depends on what camera you use too, a full frame might got away with that iso setting rather than APSC
At my high school I use ISO 5000 and shutter speed 1/1000 😭
Yeah gyms can get really dark haha
Thanks
What lens are you using
How do you get to shoot at events like this?
What camera is that and is it able to record videos?
What kind of camera is that?
What lens your use 70-200?
What camera is that?
is that the 70-200mm 2.8F lens?
Is that the Sony A7III?
How do you edit those??????
how do you deal with flickering light?? i have that problem and needed to shot at 1/100ss
I was curious what focus settings you used ? Center ?
For that kind of shot, i wouldn't gamble with auto focus...I would shoot manual.
You have any good idea for settings for sports but outdoor with sunlight?
I would just increase the shutter speed and lower the ISO!
What camera is that by the way I love your channel
It's Sony a7 III
What lens are u using sir?
How would you shoot soccer outside? Thank you...
What camera and lens did you use? Pictures look great!
