YES holy shit the decision to use Scout's death and revival in the comics as the stand-in for Aria's soul being revived in Strive is BLOODY GENIUS, it keeps the emotional impact of that part of the video even if you don't know GG lore

I have to imagine it was annoying to make that helmet transform animation so it matched the GG version, and it’s one of those extra mile things that makes this vid so great
I know 1:47 is lifted straight from Strive's opening, but having RED and BLU charge at each other only for them to turn and run side by side against the robots is actually pretty poetic. I'd say it even works better here than in the context of Strive.
It's like the truces mechanic in the Halloween update where RED and BLU couldn't attack or do anything against the other team, and instead had to defeat a boss together

I'm still mad that you're locked to bring RED in MvM. I kinda understand because if BLU was playable then it could probably mess with Spy's disguises, but in that case just assign everyone to RED and give players a random chance on which color model they get

What makes this fantastic is that you didn't just replace the Strive roster with the cast of TF2 for parody's sake; you used the characters interchangeably so each shot makes sense in its own right. Lots of these little cool references to the comics and shorts to replace the bits that wouldn't have made much sense, and really clever touches like the Spy-resurrection sequence, Heavy getting ubered for the shot of Asuka at the end, replacing I-No with the robots, it's very clear that a ton of thought and effort went into making this and it turned out brilliantly. Immensely well done.
As someone who's played a copious amount of both Guilty Gear and TF2, I am legitimately mad about just how well done this is from the perspective of both franchises

This not only is a well done remake of the Guilty Gear Strive opening, this is also an incredible love letter to the TF2 series with the references to the lore and comics, the utilization of equivalents to the scenes portrayed.

Born too late to explore the world, born too soon to explore the stars, born at the perfect time to watch the Team Fortress anime opening.
The sheer amount of lore callbacks in this dude, from the Red Demo and Blue Soldier being the main dueling combo, the reanimated comic panels, Demo's Install being visualized by him having Eyelander heads, its amazing.

You see gg style are literally puting 2d 3d animation together by using models of 3d and moving frame of 2d such as smear,fast frame etc.anything you could think of from 2d animation you could put stf as a comparisons to make it clear what I'm trying to say is that gg style are kinda common cgi used in some of the anime.

This was excellent. The scene where Demo and Soldier appear like they are charging toward each other only to slip past and converge on the robots was amazing.
The only thing missing is switching Soldier's Market Gardener for the Half-Zatoichi.

I've been thinking about movesets, Spy would be a mix up character using his invis for left right mix ups, using different knives for some of his moves for different properties, like having the big earner have a stab that has more ending lag if blocked but if hit would put him back into a cloak mix up, demoman would be demoknight, where a few moves would add a head count, boosting health and giving regen and making him move faster(Just like in-game) and medic would be focused on landing something like the ubersaw taunt to build Uber to give himself 6 second invulnerability to let his high but risky damage able to be thrown out with less worry of a punish.
Sniper would be huntsman, using a mix of SMG arrow shots and jarate as well as his melee to stay mid range and once jarate is ready go in for the kill.
Pyro would be hard, probably focused on the fire being a dubuff more than damage, sorta like testaments stain with his axestinguisher, having low dps normally but having very high bursts.
Soldier would be movement focused, weaving around the enemy before landing a garden. His super would be the beggars firing a stupid amount of rockets.
Heavy would be boxing heavy, a sorta grappler Rushdown hybrid, where he is slow to get in but once in can get speed boosts on hit allowing him to keep the pressure up.
More supers:
Demoman would have one where time pauses and he can choose where to put stickie bombs (idk how many total) which he could detonate at any time with taunt (which would not do the taunt so he could follow up)
Oh and have would be giving him his minigun for around 10 seconds, having a new moveset that is focused on getting the opponent out of block so he use the very high damage of the minigun.
Gonna add more to this soon.
Engi would be setplay, getting a dispenser which would give a speedboost and healing, as well as maybe less ending lag, and a minisentry for block pressure (but fires in bursts/maybe only able to be used if wrangled)
i have one living in my brain that uses an ammo + reload gimmick for one weapon per character (ammo packs spawn at center stage), explosives with high hitstop and a full 360° of knockback angles, tauntkills as unblockables, etc. the way tf2 plays lends itself rly well to a fg

This segment works better than the original, seeing the Red mercs in the van in a casual light, then cutting to a scene of a Blue Spy implying that one of them is a spy legitimately gave me chills.
Why is no one talking about this one lol. One of my favourite parts!
Not to mention it was these three mercs that were also in Meet the Spy, just opposite colour.

It's insane how many details you packed just into the second half. The comic references, the Nago mask, the classes being separated by role, the explosions, plus the fact that Blu soldier and Red demo were bitter rivals in the story... just wow.

Everything about this is great, I especially love the dynamic camera being not always in place and always moving in every different angles. Adds that much more flare to the whole video, especially in the action scenes. Also matches with GG aesthetic well too, just all around amazing.

As someone who has no idea what guilty gear is I can honestly say this is an incredible animation, bravo
in very simplified, it’s a fighting game series 25 years old and counting. It was firstly inspired off of a classic fighting game: Street Fighter. And then moved towards it’s own uniqueness. This was the TF2 parody of the intro of the most recent game: Strive.
On another note: This game has very strange sequel names. Such as the older games being named Guilty Gear, Guilty Gear X, Guilty Gear XX, and with it’s fourth instalment, Guilty Gear 2, Guilty Gear Xrd and now Strive. There are sub-games like Xrd Revelator or Xrd Sign but you get the point. Thanks Daisuke (Game’s creator and director)
I will summarize the guilty gear story:
Ride wife, life good, wife fight back, kill wife, think about wife, regret, wife fight back, kill wife, think about wife, regret, wife fight back, kill wife, think about wife, regret, wife back, ride wife, life good.
Also a cat boy blowed up Japan and a crusader did the deed with the equivalent to a nuclear bomb.
