    This flight was taken in February, before the Coronavirus became a major issues. Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic I am not traveling, and I strongly discourage anyone from taking any non-essential flights. That being said, this channel is very important to me, so I stockpile extra footage from every trip to make sure I have enough footage to continue uploading even if I am unable to fly for any reason. So, you will continue to see daily content on my channel during this unprecedented time. I currently have enough footage to continue with daily uploads through September 2020 without stepping on another aircraft. Fly with me here on this channel, not on real flights! At least for now. Stay safe everyone!

    Isn't it wonderful when you break out of all that cloudy murk and into the bright blue sky above! But, what lousy weather that was in DFW and I couldn't believe how many aircraft there were queuing to take off. Plus, there was that worrying storm on arrival at KPHX, lucky it wasn't directly over the airport when you landed!!! Oh well, at least you had a brand new A320 Neo to fly to PHX in eh :-) Regards from Paul in the UK

    Around the 0:40 mark, you can see the engine fan blades rotating, for anyone that does not know, the engine is not running, the wind was blowing thru the engine, and the blades do rotate freely. quite a little rainstorm there. A seventeen jets stacked up there. 2:09:02 that is the SR60 you passed over. 2:10:27 thats the 101North.At that interchange is "SPARKY" a point pilots use for navigation. Great flight, really love hearing the new sounds of the neos. Got to hear those beautiful CFM Leap engines power up twice from that ground stop as well as that spool up at 20:53. Have you ever thought about recording a full flight completely uncut from the moment you board to the moment you leave the plane? I really like the slow reality type deal, and I think that would be really nice to do, although I know it takes up tons of space. Another CZcamsr used to do the same thing, and I've constantly been looking for that type of experience again, where I can experience the flights in real-time for the duration that it takes to get from point A to B. Your full flight videos are the closest I've been able to get to this, so again, great work buddy! Keep it rocking and going, and you'll be able to fly again frequently soon enough!

    • @sla31
      @sla31  Před 4 lety

      Thanks my friend. I’m glad you’re enjoying the videos. I have considered filming “uncut” flights. I’ve considered it a lot actually. Here’s what’s stopping me though. You touched on one reason already. The files are massive. One of my most popular videos is a flight from DFW-HNL on a 787-9. It was nearly 9 hours. I cut it down to 3 hours for the video. That video, at only 3 hours, in 4K, was over 150 GB. If I had filmed it “uncut” it would have been nearly 500 GB. I have over 33,000 GB of external storage, but I only travel with about 2,000 GB. 4K is great, but it just takes up so much space, that it’s really difficult to film “uncut.” Also, I do not use a mount when I film. One of the reasons my footage is so smooth is because I hold the camera by hand. So, as good as RJ’s makes the footage look, I’m not Superman. I can only hold the camera for upwards of an hour at a time before I have to take a break. There are other reasons including the fact it take ages for CZcams to process videos that lathe , but those are the main ones. Maybe someday I’ll find a way to get the same quality out of super long videos. But for now, this is as close as it gets for me. Thanks again my friend!

    • @sla31
      @sla31  Před 4 lety +1

      Thanks my friend. Yes, I do know what those are. They are the lightning indicators for the ramp workers. Each airport has different procedures, and I'm not familiar with PHX in particular, but since they were flashing yellow, I'd imagine that means there is lightning in the area, but it's not close enough to close the ramp. Some airports call that a "yellow alert". They would probably flash red when the ramp needed to be closed. A "red alert" at that point. Not all ramp workers have radios, and bright flashing lights are often used on the terminals to get rampers attention if the ramp needs to be closed.

      I don't. I don't use any type of mount. I hold the camera with my hand. A lot of the "smoothness" is because of the built in, real time, video stabilization that my camera has. It compensates, automatically, for a lot of the small moments. Thanks for watching my friend!

    DFW is infamous for weather ground stoppages. Once it’s lifted I can’t even imagine how all those planes get out of there or into there. At least you guys have seven runways, unlike some busy places which only have two.

    Do you have any mods for this video I notice the traffic looks better since the last time I have flown? The freeways look more realistic with a good amount of traffic, is this a new update? I still think the street light is way to much even though it makes it look more pretty my opinion I think it needs to be fewer street lights and more dark patches on the city the video cam need to have grain for low light on cam, window and reflection from the people inside and more dark scuff marks on the plane and shaky cam slightly in the air and on landing.... Sorry, I am a real detail realist freak to try to get the best realism, ahahah hope this helps :D

    • @sla31
      @sla31  Před 4 lety

      I don't. I live in Joplin, Missouri. DFW just happens to be the airport that I connect through most. JLN is the closet airport to my house, and they only have flights to DFW and ORD. I also fly out of XNA, SGF, TUL, and MCI a lot, but even using those airports, DFW is still usually the best option.

    No Offense, but I'm not sure how many ppl could sit thru hours long videos of average flights unless you catch something very wrong happening which I doubt would be your goal. However, if you get paid the same for someone to watch a minute as you do if they watch the whole thing then I will be glad to continue clicking on them for you.

    Can anyone explain why they restarted their engine?

    • @sla31
      @sla31  Před 4 lety

      So, the weather you see at the beginning of the video was bad enough that it stopped traffic for over an hour. Once we got to the runway, we sat there at the hold short for about 45 minutes. Long enough that the crew shut the engines down and ran power off the APU to save fuel. Once they got the green light that the airport was opening again, they started them again.

    Jeeebers..... Hearing what is actually taking place in the cockpits during actual landings, especially during ones on dark stormy nights like this one actually do give me b utterflies watching it from an average cabin view. Please be careful flying during bad (or even mildly bad) weather. Your dedication to your channel is admiral, but fly safe and if it will allow you, go look at some videos of a couple other flight channels that I subscribe to, to understand why I stress that. Maybe you could just film the take-offs and landings and then start filming in between if something scary or exciting starts happening. Bet you just love someone giving you advice on what you have probably already turned into a successful channel, sorry. Maybe I'm the one that's boring and others may find the entire flights enjoyable to watch.
