I went through the same issue. I'm Ghanaian/ American, flew from DC to Ghana for 6 weeks , but after 5 days, i need to go to South Africa for my south African girlfriend's brother's wedding, and my girlfriend already went there waiting for me. Flying from ACCRA to Johannesburg, I decided to use my Ghanain password to, at the Joberg airport, they did the same thing to me until I showed them my U.S driver license and passport on my phone, then one arrogant ignorant immigration office was like why you didn't U.S your passport? And I answered him, I'm in the motherland , I'm proud African, that's why I used my Ghanain password. After that, they told me to go, and I was surprised. Why? Because these South Africa doesn't value themselves as Africans and that is a shame

That is not true South Africans are true Africans, problem is people take our immigration laws for granted, now that Ghana is visa free, people from other countries will use Ghana entry to SA and never return home yet as a South African i am not allowed to go stay in other countries with out proper channels, we follow and respect the laws of other nations but other people do not, another example UK was visa free for South Africans but people of the world would come to SA find false documentation to pretend as South Africans when the go to UK.

@@philad1439I'm so tired of hearing this from South Africans every time. Somehow, they think every African wants to stay in their "beautiful" country, as they call it. Well, not Ghanaians, man. I mean no disrespect, but we want noth'n to do with xenophobic folk.

@@philad1439I totally agree with you..Am a Ghanaian and personally i think this visa-free to South Africa And Ghana needs to be checked thoroughly..other African countries could use this as an opportunity and run down South Africa or Ghana..South Africa is by far the most developed country in Africa and if care is not taken and every African is allowed to enter freely, it could have a negative consequence on South Africa..Other Africans who are not Ghanaians could use this as an opportunity to go and settle in South Africa..remember South Africa has its own problems with unemployment and crime..Ghana also has its own problems..The best thing that we Africans need to do is to develop our individual African countries so we don’t put pressure on other African countries..for example, Ghanaian leaders and the citizens need to focus in developing our beautiful Ghana..Togo leaders and their citizens need to focus on developing Togo..Burkina Faso needs to do same..Most of the European countries develop their respective countries before having open borders..Africans need to do same..I don’t think it’s right to just wake up and go and settle in other African country when their citizens are still struggling for jobs..it’s not right..I repeat every african country should have a plan and develop our respective countries..once every country in Africa is developed to its full potential, one Africa and border less africa will automatically happen..peace out

I was watching and listening to your positive info regarding a Visa and borderless Africa. The truth is there is hardly negative behaviour noted about Ghananians in South Africa and any other country for that matter. This says a lot about ghananians respect for laws of other countries.Kudos to that,👏👏👏👏.However less can be sad about other fellow africans, who visit South Africa and break the laws of our country, kill rape and rob hence, South Africans resentment of people from those Countries. That been said i have an issue with bordeless Africa as that will allow for criminals to cause chaos in other countries and be irretraceable.By that, i dont mean we have no criminals of our own we do but they are traceable. And since many uses Ghanaian passports it will become more difficult for everyone because it's known that many are using European or American passports don't be surprised some day someone from the US saying they been denied entry in SA or a lengthy process will be followed like calling your next of kin back home and them confirming your identity number and nationality and more . You need to travel more and you'll see that it's pretty standard on a number of counties and they'll question foreigners randomly, whether you're from the Continent or from outside of the Continent. Don't tell our immigration officers how to do their jobs, they have the right to check whatever they want to check about you, because you're in a foreign country when you arrive here. Ghana needs to make their visa process a little easier, like asking u for itinerary, hotel address that's OK then some other email address for the hotel that's not necessary 😮, older people who don't understand about this uploading and stuff it's kinda complicated, I applied for a us visa and I didn't have that much stress, they wanted to know where u was going to stay or who ur visiting I want to come next year, and I am just feeling lazy thinking about the process

They probably want you to have a visa because you’re traveling to another country. It has nothing to do with you being on the same continent. You’re different countries. For example, the United States is one country. The states are not multiple countries. The states are part of the one country. That’s why you can go from state to state.

Look at the bad treatment visiting soccer teams receive from other African countries when they go and play. This ill treatment must stop . We are all brothers and sisters .

Why start your SA trip with so much negativity? So you were held for an hour at immigration and then sent through visa-free, is it wise to bad-talk the whole country due to that? Also, pinning a negative comment about us is not wise and will not endear you to SAns on CZcams bro.

He has the right to express his opinions about the South African immigration, especially when people from certain nationalities are being held for that long. Americans don’t need visa to SA just like Ghana, but your immigration will never hold Americans or Europeans for that long. Something needs to change here. Allow him to share his experiences with the SA immigration to other Africans wanting to visit SA.

Ghana/Kenya were recently given visa-free access to SA which does not mean immigration has waived their right to check individuals. Africans are ALWAYS targeted victims. 🤕

Nationals from West Africa & Asia, Pakistan included tend to come to SA to commit crimes, many over stay. Therefore, it’s necessary to double check passports. Secondly, statistically it’s there that Europeans don’t just go to SA and hustle, commit crimes though some from Slovakia etc are crime lords that buy estates in Cape Town, they are fighting that. Lastly, even with Visa not required, it’s necessary to double check your passports, it’s procedure.
