Over my journey of a few months, I've noticed that if I took a break for like 3-4 days between learning it all came together easier that next time I practiced
If I had to give one tip to anyone, at least try a locked diff in AC. You do that by putting diff coast and diff power to 100%. It's just a bit easier to keep the car in drift and it's easier to understand what's happening when your rear wheels aren't spinning at different speeds. When you get into more pro cars tho, especially if your drifting a track where u have to stretch corners even after turning up your gear ratio try to mess with them a bit.
Learning to sim drift myself started on a t248 and got the bug hardcore and went Direct drive!!!! Game changer!!! Love practicing the core basics that keep us progressing!!!!! Cheers!!!!
gotta agree with u on the T150. I got the tmx which is just the xbox version of that and for the first year I was simdrifting I used it and had to turn the rotation down to 540 degrees so I didn't have to rotate the wheel to counter steer. Gotta say this year after I got my DD wheel I am way happier running 1080 and having no issues
For those who want to get in sim drift, there are some myths about it: 1st: "i cant drift with my wheel..." , all you need is ANY FFB (working) wheel, so dont cry about DDs, you dont NEED them to learn drift, specialy not te Fanatec podium wheels or any from that class...2nd "i cant drift without a handbrake", yes you can, learn to use car weight, momentum and clutch kick..., 3th "i know how to drift, i was play underground 2 , give me the 1000hp, pussies play with 300hp", the reality is the opposite, if you learning, 300hp car will give you more tolerance to mistakes... 4th "sim drift is expensive, i need 3x 4k TVs for realism"...a medium strength pc and a good shape used wheel isnt cost that much, yes 3 tv give better feel, but having a 24 inch monitor is enough for start, even to stay on it isnt that bad, 5th: "the more time i spend on learning the better i get...", well yes but no, learning to drift need some time, also your brain need some rest to process the muscle memory, and to understand whats going on and how to react, thats why is better to practice 20-30min 2-3 days, and than rest 1-2 day, than sitting the whole month playing 3-5 hours per day, in the end you will end up burnout, frustrated, and quit...1 bonus advice, stick to 1 game to learning than go others, learning to drift in 5 different game in same time will only make the process longer....
@@Xyrez That's how I felt with my T150, and once I got my T300, I was instantly able to do way better than before. Sometimes it can be a hardware issue instead of a skill issue, but that doesn't mean you can't learn a lot on the lower end :)
@@retrospec3 yes i agree with this 100% im able to drift and link the tracks ive played but its hard for me to be consistent with g920, but im never used anything better so i cant say its 100% wheels fault, could be me
@@Xyrez Well that's what I used to tell myself but trust me it's a night and day difference when you make a big switch but then again this was my own experience and I can't say what will happen for you
What an incredible amount of progress! I have your exact starter setup but I've also just started so I'm not too hard on it. What do you think sets the two first wheels apart?
Thank you! Well, when I had the T150, I felt as if I had to fight the wheel to spin in the direction I wanted because of the fact that it has such low ffb. It was definitely frustrating, but it is 100% possible to be able to link corners with it. On the T300, however, it just makes that whole learning curve process A LOT easier because you aren't fighting the wheel and making a bunch of steering inputs because of the lack of ffb.
nice little motivational video! Im currently on my 1-month arch with my DD. Would you say sticking to the 300bhp cars until in feels natural is the right way to go before moving up to 800bhp+?
I would say so. Work on building the right habits in the lower powered cars and learn tandem basics/techniques and the learning curve for higher powered cars should be less of a hassle than if you were to jump straight into it. Also learn how to tune while you're starting too it can be a big help especially for some cars in the VDC pack.
@@retrospec3 Cheers for the tips. I have started to look into tuning abit more recently and it has been challenging to learn everything but i am seeing results thats for sure. Im currently using the WDTS cars, mostly the Laurel.
yea im starting too just got a r5 feels good on a DD i had a g920 but only had it for 4 days n i returned it n i already wanted a upgrade n i also got the RS V2 wheel i went all out lol

I have the exact same moments as well after a day or so of struggling it's usually smooth sailing the next day 😂

I'm learning to sim drift. I gave myself a month break because I felt that I wasn't grasping it. Atm I'm back to learning and more motivated.
Keep going brotha sometimes all you need was a break and next thing you know you're better than before!
I’m just getting into sim drifting. It’s a little irritating at times but super fun when link a track without crashing/spinning out
It's very fun man the first time I was able to link a full track I was so hype lmfao
Maaaayne I hear some sexy commentators in those competitions! Good shit homie!!🔥🔥
😂😂😂❤❤
Hey ive driven with u before lol nice improvement ❤
Haha thanks man!

idk man i feel a serious lack of ffb with a Logitech wheel

Im looking like quagmire with one buff arm from using a g29 and having to toss that thing to turn faster to keep them angles in check 😂
