    • @DaringBeefcake
      @DaringBeefcake  Před 2 lety

      If you are having the same issue with a manual gearbox I dont think is related to the gearbox fluid, since the manual gearbox would not be operated by solenoids but rather the clutch plate and the pressure plate as well as most likely a hydraulic solenoid usually operated by brake fluid, so you might need to bleed the clutch solenoid and see how you get on or may be is time for a clutch...

    • @DaringBeefcake
      @DaringBeefcake  Před rokem +1

      I think the manual gearbox takes 75w80 or 75w90 not dextron which usually is for automatic transmission. Your supplier will advise you better.

    That gearbox has the capacity of 4 liters if you drain it warm, or 6 liters if you drain it cold.

    • @DaringBeefcake
      @DaringBeefcake  Před 9 měsíci +1

      Well is hard to diagnose what might be the issue here. But first the burning smell may be coming from an oil leak, may be oil dripping from somewhere in the engine to the exhaust and burning. If the transmission fills a bit odd when driving or stopping may be try changing the oil. There might be a filter inside the transmission but I haven’t done that and I don’t have this car anymore so I can’t really advise. You could change the transmission fluid and see if the driving improves.

      I normally change the oil with the transmission warm. You can use dextron granville that should be fine.. yes it says it’s for life but I had issues with my Astra and after replacing the oil it solved the issue. So perhaps routine changes should be carried out. I always use the method or refilling the same amount of oil that gets drained and you should be fine.

How ever, I might be a different issue i Honda jazz which seems to have problems with the transmission juddering but it turned out to be the spark plugs and coil packs. Very odd however it happens. So may be worth checking those if you haven’t changed spark plugs lately. Otherwise it’s difficult to say. In any case it could be early signs of a transmission issue starting to develop.

    • @DaringBeefcake
      @DaringBeefcake  Před 6 měsíci

      To be honest am not sure, it is possible that the total capacity is 8.5, because normally when changing the transmission oil some oil remains in the torque converter. So when you drain the oil only some oil comes out, Normally between 3 and 5 litres depending on the car.

      I didn’t find metal pieces in the oil but the oil was very dirty and thick so the new oil helped to solve the problem.
