Well. This has shown me two things, two really important things
1) Sprigatito is a cat. Now, that may seem obvious, but what I mean is it ACTS like a cat. It's grumpy, lovable, quick to violence, and will only love you as long as you provide for it like a servant would. This is amazing, adorable, and all around reminds me of Pikachu and Ash's relationship in the first season. I love it!
2) Liko. Is. Not. Ash! She isn't a cardboard cut out to take Ash's place and just be "Ash but girl", she is her own unique character. Ash was rough and tumble since day one, willing to fight a Mon himself at the drop of a hat. Liko is an adorably awkward sweet heart who just wants to be friends and I love her
This is why I never liked Ash. I know some people like him and thatâs fine but compared to other characters in the series and even in the games like you said he is literally a cardboard cutout. He just has zero personality

Great start to the anime. No gym challenge so they can immediately jump into the plot, and with Ash gone, they're allowed to give the main character development and play with different personalities.

I'm glad it isn't as restricted. I still enjoy a lot of the anime, even some of the Black and White anime, until Journeys. I didn't enjoy Journeys.
@@alderlopezcastro4928 Ya I enjoyed the PokĂ©mon Anime From Beginning all the way up to end of Sun and Moon. I also did not like Journeys. I recently found a video explaining why Journeys was mid. The episodes had 0 connection and the filler was bad. Way to many battles were skipped and the ones that werenât were also pretty mid aside from some good ones. I agree with this opinion. Then I pick it up again at Horizons a year and a half after I stopped watching PokĂ©mon and itâs sooo good again. A reset/reboot/what ever Horizons is. We needed it. I also found out the reason Horizons has better battles is because they picked up an Action Director. Apparently they didnât have one before witch just blows my mind like why. But good on them for improving the team and stepping up on Animation.

If you were active around October when the M8, then you might remember that it was a chaos of episode order, 4 Recaps and 2 to 3 filler episodes in between the rounds. Then it came out that Team Kato (The production unit behind making the Pokemon Anime) were rushed and understaffed for making the episodes since atleast the Paul episode. If you rewatch the episodes around that time you can notice the dip in animation and how sometimes they use the exact same cutscene twice in the same episode like showing Mega Lucario evolving with the OP inbetween. There are few theories that are the reasons why the staff got rushed through the mud, but my guess is that they wanted to showcase all the battles in round 1 and 2 fully animated instead of just Ash's battle, with the rest being still sketches as the latter was the original plan by Tomioka, the guy responsible for the entire battle composition.
Of course it would've been a shame if the other champions weren't as showcased as much like Ash and Leon for instance, but he was also working with what the staff can accomplish for the same amount of quality they usually want to deliver for important battles within the time without deliberately outsourcing many things and overworking their employees. They probably had less time than the usual 1 to 2 months needed to create these episodes, so they opted out for the 4 Recaps and fillers to create buffer and breathing time for the staff.
Basically the Line Producer position is to take full reign of the resources and staff management to avoid such mistakes like the M8.

I really liked the new direction Pokemon anime is taking. The direction that makes the show in line with CZcams animations (PokeToons) & music videos, which has much stronger stories behind it and doesn't show any signs of being milked like most of Pokemon Journeys. I hope the show stays that way.
