- See the first TPE Mk5 set with 68032 heading for storage at Long Marston with 37601 in the chair for ROG to make the move down to Warwickshire.
Also seen are 67014 on a shuttle test run from Crewe TMD(E) to Stafford and back.. A couple of DRS moves with 6G94 having a mixed consist and 88006 on the northbound Tesco. (Shame it wasn't a 68 from a Rickerscote red standing start!)
A new set of graphics is included this video to show the TOC, headcode, route and loco for each working - Let me know in the comments what you think of these versus the previous style I was using.

My favourite 68 being made redundant, absolutely bonkers. Best sounding loco on the network bar the 37s
The 68 will go back to DRS
A pleasant surprise on the middle road through new street whilst wtg for my train to depart on platform 3
Saw the 37 going past Coseley this afternoon excellent shot
Great video as always 👍
super video sir ❤❤❤❤
Very nice indeed 👍👍👍👍👍👍
Great video👍
could only happen in uk new rolling stock being stored ,
They are not new they not using them anymore
well new enough disgrace not to be using them @@Oscarstrainspotting
Nice video great camera work as usual I am really looking forward to seeing your next video I hope you get a nice video next time also when is your next video going to be on CZcams bye for now Philip
...remind me again, how long (time) has the British built 37 been in service as compared to the non British built garbage going into 'storage'?
😉
And how long were the 58s in service?
Be interesting to see who takes th mk5 stock. Tbh GWR still have a few castle class locos running and these would be a good replacement for those Penzance to Cardiff services. Though we do love HST's
MK5's are very unrelaible
Mk5s weren’t the best but reportedly it was the crew training issues that killed them
@@Heavyweight37716 I believe they had issues with cracking, apart from that and the apparent crew training issues (no idea what the actual issues were), what other issues do they have?
Maybe Chiltern Railways?
@@leeroberts1192 Primarily cost and crew training difficulties is what I've heard
Heya! Awesome video, by the way, how do you know what locos are going to be on a movement? Like 37s , 56 ETC
Hi, you can find some loco allocation on RailCam and RTT - Social media can help you find out also 👍
Shame you didn't get the skodas on 4L90, tomorrow is the last time it's booked to run indefinitely
Yes it was a shame to miss those unfortunately - Can’t catch them all 🤯🤣
I was going to ho out for this one but something came up
68s will end up back with drs like many of the others already have
DRS is already using the TPE livery 68s (sublease to TPE ended).
@@bfapple Even when Chiltern Railways were using them (and still do), DRS would still use the odd silver one once in a while on freight duties. DRS officially supply 68008-68009 in their livery as spare locos to cover for 68010-68015, much like they did with 68033-68034 for 68019-68032 (something like that)
@@ChilternTransportProductions all 68s are leased from Beacon Rail by DRS, and subleased to TOCs where applicable.
Someone plz tell me when will a steam loco heading down the midland mainline to at Pancras
They don't anymore
I never really understood the Class 67. Like… what do they actually do? What were they made for?
they were originally designed to haul mail trains
@@Saismee what are they used for now? Whenever they are filmed they’re just going along solo
I think some of the 67 fleet operate with tfw trains
3 are used on the Royal Train
The 68 won't be stored though?
They're owned by drs right?
Yes and only being hired by TPE so the 68s themselves will return to DRS@@petahertz5855
@@petahertz5855 yes.
@@vincitveritas3872 I'm sure they'll use them or lease them fairly quickly
Hi, I doubt that they are actually owned by DRS, it's more likely that they are owned by a leasing company, the loco's probably cost around £4m each.@@petahertz5855
68027 went today as well , such a waste .
Can't see 68s being mothballed
Highly doubt the 68s will be stored since they are owned by DRS, who use 68s for loads of workings especially nuclear flasks to and from Sellafield.
68 will go back to DRS
XC could have made use of those Mk5's on various services, oh hang on though. Cross Country are getting "NEW" trains anyway 😮😮😮
Class 221s from Avanti West Coast will be going to CrossCountry
@arnoldspottingvideos5269 yes that's correct. 15 are moving to XC
@deanscarth8825 I thought is was 7
@@arnoldspottingvideos5269 correction, yes 7, senior moment
I find it unbelievable that a class 37 from the 1960s is taking rolling stock into storage from 4 years ago into as its no longer fit for service someone should be in jail for the waste of taxpayers money
Why wasn’t the set self propelled?
It is fit for service and they will be brought back for cross country.
@@22pcirishnope
Unlikely they will be used for CrossCountry, there are much better options for them
A disgraceful waste of modern traction and rolling stock. Every excuse under the sun has been trotted out regarding the withdrawal of the 68s and Mk 5s, if anything exemplifies a dysfunctional railway this certainly does.
Inspections needed to be included with the withdrawal on Mk5s on TPE. And no there not scrapping them
