- A mix of different workings here with Ford cars & vans headed from Dagenham dock in East London to Garston on Merseyside.
Also included are Toyota cars headed southbound from the Midlands to the Channel Tunnel for export into Europe.
A few of these at close to their top speeds also.
The contract for the Ford movements is now held by GBRf - There is an older DRS clip included in the video to show the Class 88 electrics that used to operate on these workings.

6:48 New tone horns are lovely 🔥🔥
I can't be the only one thinking how awesome it would be to be sat in one of those cars!
Different perspective for sure! 👍😜👍
Me too!
How about, for the return journey, they do railtours. BYO car!
I’m now retired but was a car transporter driver I used to collect vans from the Doncaster rail port that had travelled by train from port bury docks
An amazing catch, I'll have to save and watch again to work out how many vehicles...😀
Amazing footage. Thanks for posting 👍
Great video. Really enjoyed that. Thks for sharing. 👍
Glad you enjoyed it 👍
Funny, I was thinking it would take an enormous amount of blu-tak to stick the cars down as on my OO scale car transporters
I was a shunter on BR in the 70s, based at Dorridge. I used to place CARTIC4s for the company (MAT) to load. We sent them to Dover and Harwich for export, and occasional specials to Bath gate in Scotland.
Washwood heath- Bathgate cars via Derby. remember the TI 47s working that service.
Nice
