How does she do it? Technique and talent. Such a talented artist and gem of a person.
I really like Spiritbox and Courtney but Tati is by far my favorite vocalist. Her combination of beautiful, power cleans and amazing screams and growls it is her annunciation that most floors me. You can understand her lyrics even in her loudest screams or deepest growls. Note her lyrics are also incredibly powerful. You need to try an older Jinjer song as you have hit newer stuff. Maybe Cloud Factory or Outlander.
Jinjer is the GOAT.
I love Perennial! Always love Jinjer! This one, like every Jinjer song for many reasons, hits me in the feels. It's about Tatiana's Seasonal Affective Disorder aka seasonal depression, but Tatiana's approach to lyrics is very poetic and thought provoking, and for me, helpful for getting through some sadness, anger and tough times.
This performance, like every one I've seen by Jinjer, is awesome! I think they're all testament to their creativity in composing (all four of them to varying degrees on different songs), their hard work practicing to be so tight as a band, and also their sound engineer who does a great job with the mix so each of them is heard well. Just a note on this particular show: Perennial was the last song of the set and for the songs before this one, they had some issues with the sound that made recordings of those earlier songs sound not quite as good as this one (though still awesome performances, I'd say).

Years of practice and natural talent. My guy I'm a metal head and this is my favorite band. There's so many good women growlers you have just scratched the surface with the best one of them all you will compare the rest to Tatiana now 😊
My favorite performance is Pit of Consciousness live in Kiev. She uses her false chords for the growls.

Short answer, Tatiana is a witch. Long answer Tatiana is a world class growler. Tatiana has one of the best vocal ranges in metal today. The Jinjer rabbit hole is an adventure.

Hey there! Just some fun information for you.
Tatiana does a different kind of scream than Courtney. To get that low, Tatiana is not using her vocal chords, but instead her vestibular vocal folds, or the "false folds." Basically the same parts of your throat that vibrate when you clear your throat. Think about the voice that the Cookie Monster from Sesame Street uses. For that kind of sound, men and women basically get the pitch, since it doesn't use your actual vocal chords very much.
Alternatively, I believe Courtney uses a fry scream. Think about the kind of distortion that would happen in your voice if you were talking while lifting something heavy, but focused and amplified.
I'm not a vocal coach, so the exact details of the techniques aren't known to me, but I do find it interesting!
