    Yes, The Fuse Comp 29 is an definitely all around bike. That’s crazy you happen to review it. I did demo rides all week on one. It was a beast for a hard tail. Definitely buying one in the next few weeks. The cost is slightly higher than the Roscoe however upgraded fork and adjustable chain stay well worth the different. I hope get it. You will love it.

  • @mattj6676
    @mattj6676 Před 2 lety +8

    You've come a long way, now when you look at a bike you talk about how you like this component or that brand, you know what you like now and it makes it a lot easier to shop for a bike because of it. Of course you still love everything, but that's just how you are. That looks like a great bike! Keep in mind a very soft tire will give you a pretty plush ride, but that looks like a well spec'd unit. Almost to 10,000, congratulations!

  • @jasonmorrow5840
    @jasonmorrow5840 Před rokem +4

    I see so many people focus on specs. Specs can be changed most of them cheaply except the fork. I have a Fuse Expert 2021 and a Big Al. On paper the Big Al has more aggressive geometry wise and spec wise I built it with XT drivetrain and SLX brakes with a Lyrik. My Fuse is stock except for a riser bar 50mm. The Big Al is a HIGHLY praised bike and its a blast to own but for whatever reason the Fuse just feels more fun to ride. My GF also has a 2022 Roscoe 7..another great bike but not as fun as the Fuse. Point to be made is just looking at Geo on paper and or looking at specs does not tell the true story of a bike. If you look at Geo numbers for the Fuse compared to most other bad ass hardtails the Geo looks kinda boring but ride a Fuse and its a different animal then on paper. If you get a chance to ride a bike first before buying its the best investment you can make.

    • @buckroger6456
      @buckroger6456 Před rokem

      Well said. Geo numbers are nice to see and such, but nothing beats throwing a leg over and getting to ride it around first.
      I picked up a fuse 27.5 and have been just loving it.

  • @rabidhissmusicofficial2842

    I remember years ago when Specialized reimagined this bike, the reviews were great and I always kept it in the back of my mind. I have no idea why I’m searching it now, but it seems pretty top-notch to me! I believe originally it was a plus bike, the 27.5’s were the in-between of regular and Fat.

    I do have it in a Large. I’m. 6’ 158 lbs. everything you said rings true. Stairs are nothing to the fuse comp 29. Even fallen trees and tall 90 degree curbs, that back tire goes right up them. And I even switched my back tire to a Specialized fast track for roads and sidewalks. I got a shorter flat handle bar that’s more aggressive and I can walk it through the hallways of my apartment much easier. I’m clipped in with some Time pedals. Love the minimalist gray color. Honestly I got this bike just because it was satin gray. Ha! Turns out I love the bike. I didn’t even know what the 29 meant. Ordered it online. Love the 29” wheels. The Eliminator tires that it comes with have so much shock absorbency. Definitely got lucky and found a totally cool and fun bike to ride which is all I can really ask out of it. Glad you liked it too.

    One of the best hardtail bikes out there, not the cheapest or the one with the best components but definitely very well balanced and ready for whatever you throw at it. I am 6' feet tall and weigh 270 lbs. and it holds me very well in size L, I don't do extreme things like jumping or going downhill at full speed, but for a beginner who wants to learn and improve mountainbike skills the fuse comp is one of the best options and you can trust that it won't fall apart under you, in short, it's a tank... out of the box it is not necessary to do anything to it, just run it as it comes and as they wear out or break then you do the necessary upgrades like any bicycle... and remember that the most important thing In a bicycle it is the frame and the specialized has a lifetime frame guarantee... other good bikes for beginners canyon stoic 4 santa cruz chameleon timberjack sauce roscoe trek 7,8,9 team marin 2 (XC) Thanks to you Matty I bought the Marlyn 7 for my wife and the Roscoe 6 for myself, very good for blue trails and commute but definitely for the more technical and chunky stuff ill pick my fuse comp...

    My 2020 Fuse Comp 29er is still going strong although there isn't much left stock on it. It's not the most progressive geo available but it makes for a more versatile frame compared to the slack hardcore hardtails out there. It climbs amazing, I can do miles of xc on it or hit my local DH runs on it. Just a classic trail hardtail for those that don't need every bike to be super slack and downhill focused. It's also a sweet frame that's deserving of upgrades as you wear/break things.
    Currently have a 140mm Bomber Z2, 200/180mm rotors and G2 RSC brakes, Stan MK3 rims with DT Swiss 350 hubs. Only things stock are the cranks, bars and derailleur. It rips...
