I had a home invasion the other day and had to defend myself with a kitchen knife and a wooden club. They worked ok and was able to get the guy out of the house without any injury to anyone, would have been nice to have a gun though.

No ill effects at all from the first and second jab, at one point i felt like i might get a headache, but did not get one, strange feeling., other wise all good, i do not agree with the mandating, but the Victorian government where i live has been sneaky and placed the obligation on our employers to mandate it. I live in sth east Melbourne in a semi rural area . It has been nice to live here but is now starting to be developed, so starting to get some undesirable people moving through the area, might have to move further out. This is the first time

Police need more training like any other job. It's too short and they don't even know the laws they're enforcing. End qualified immunity too.
If you end qualified immunity, no one would be a cop anymore. If you think they would, along as they could get "malpractice" insurance - but I will tell you that medicine in my very blue state has gone down the toilet since it's become such a litigious state and doctors have to buy SO MUCH malpractice insurance.

I'm a social worker. Trust me, we are NOT law enforcement, nor should we EVER try to take over that role. We work WITH law enforcement in certain situations as a TEAM to help bring order, and keep people safe.

Introducing mental health responses to mental health issues is on point. The notion of defunding police is amateur hour.
The idea is you take some of the funding the police get for this and actually use it on mental health professionals. It's a win-win. The cops are no longer relied upon to deal with an issue they are ill equipped to deal with and we get some much needed funding to combat mental health issues.

Defunding the police is a ploy. In 2008 Obama made a speech proposing a national security force comprised of 6 million disinfranchised youth. He only said it once, but he meant it.
