@@HellaBasque thanks hun, it will be on my to do’s. I was just thinking about making more effort to go to a festival. I watched the Orson wells documentary yesterday. Pretty cool.

Thank you! I loved it! great editing and great job with your video!
Thank you! This is definitely the biggest video project I've done so far haha
My family prized a French basque restaurant like this and never realized it was for mass consumption!
It would be so nice to go
I hope you can make it one day! It's a lot of fun. If not, Jaialdi is next year in Boise, Idaho! Which is like Bakersfield picnic times 1,000 :D
Woolgrowers is my favorite restaurant in Bakersfield.
My home away from home
Awesome 😂😂😂😂😂
Mila esker hau banatzeagatik! I wish there was something like this in Oregon! Ze muz dabiltza zure euskarako ikasketak? How are your Euskara studies going?
Justin Green i know what you mean. I was raised in Bakersfield, where this footage was taken. I have been in Portland for 10 years now.
Euskara classes just ended for the semester last night! So I need to keep it up on my own now. The learning is going slowly
@@900castillo Bakersfield is definitely spoiled with Basque options! Sometimes you've gotta leave it to appreciate how nice it is to have a Basque clubhouse nearby
Do you know any good source for learning the basque language?
I wrote a blog post on this very topic: bit.ly/learneuskaraonline
My name is Orlando and I am originally from Central California; I was born in Hanford, CA which is about 80 miles north of Bakersfield. I want to know if I have Basque heritage.
OMG I guess aitak never drive cars! Mine doesn’t, non of my uncles do it... only thing they would drive is a farm tractor, trucks or carriages lol 😂 🚜
Haha I love this
Koki Aedo basque ba
Ederra!
Mil esker!
Anne-Marie what's your basque last names.
Just curious. What other ancestry do you have apart from Basque?
My mom's side is from the Béarn, the region just east of the Basque Country in the Pyrenees
@@HellaBasque Oh gosh so it all stays more or less within the Region haha I guess you are somehow gascon as well?
@@Alejojojo6 Can't say I know too much about Gascogne but I guess technically the Béarn falls under that umbrella
@@HellaBasque That is interesting because the Gascons(although speaking an Occitan language) are considered ethnically Basque. Even the name Gascon comes from the Latin word foe Basque people. The Basque influence in the Gascon language also shows in words where the "f" was replaced with an "h"(Old Basque did not have the phonetic "f"). That same Basque influence happened with Spanish as well(fogar=hogar, folga=huelga, forno=horno, etc.).
I’m in bakersfield. Anyways we’ve traced out family dna to pais Vasco
I need to attend a Basque festival. I was stationed in Idaho and went to one. I’m an Archuleta.
