Attempting To Fit CRAZY Aggressive Wheels On My 700HP BMW 335i - Will They Rub?

  • Wheels have to be one of the most exciting mods you can do to any car. In my case I needed a new setup for my single turbo E90 BMW 335i. Not only did I need super light aggressive wheels, but I also needed a good set of the tires that could help me put down all the power my car is making. I reached for the stars and purchased what has to be one of the most aggressive combinations you can get for an LCI E90. Will they rub? Will the car be practical? In this video we will answer all the questions you all might have.

    • @devinrob4652
      @devinrob4652 Před 3 lety

      You can easily fit a 275 on there with minimal to no camber and work on the fenders. I've been showing guys and telling guys this for 10 years since I got my e90 LCI brand new 2010 and still have it.

    • @devinrob4652

      My first year of ownership I ran a 18x 10 front the offsets 245-35 meaty Tire and rears were 18 by 11 and half low off sets with the 285.30 meaty Tire minimal camber hardly any work at all took me a couple hours to put in
      From there of running 18 by 10.5 front 19x11 front, 18x12 rear 19x12.5 rear etc etc always pushing the chassis and Trying to show its limits
      The last 6+ years been running the widest to date worldwide on any e9x stock body non widebody M body included. Measured for a year to the mm and took lots of custom work mostly for the front to get the camber I needed to make work.
      19x12 FRONT negative offsets 6" lips 255/35 tore
      19x13 REAR negative offsets 7" lips 275/30 tire customer entire front suspension we made upper arms lower etc to get the camber needed
      Run -14 camber now at least last year's matching front to rear

    I run the stock wheels in a square set up, style 193 that come with the m sport. I had 2 sets so I was able to do a square set up. 18x8.5 275/35/18 all around. No rubbing in the back and fronts rub because my bump stops on the strut is non existent

    • @sund5
      @sund5 Před 3 lety +1

      If you go 18x9.5 on a e90 you absolutely need a very very stiff suspension right? Otherwise it will rub? (Or am I wrong? :-) )

    With a taller offset, you could run wider tires in the rear. Im on 295 30 18, 18x11 et29 and we put my set up on my friend's LCI just to see what it would look like. We found out that it's only the hub that is wider on the LCI's fender clearance is all the same. So if we ran a higher offset, he could also run 295's on his LCI

  • @Zalle335
    @Zalle335 Před 3 lety

    I almost ordered ET25 9.5 rear and ended up not doing it because of this.
    You could change out the wheel hub for a pre-lci and get 8mm more to play with on each side FYI.
    I also think you could also just shave the hub on the wheel and get a higher ET.
    Otherwise, as you probably are doing right now, just roll the fender and pull it a slight bit (still wont be enough probably).

  • @matthewbittenbender9191

    I'm in a FB BMW diesel group and about 50% of the member have 335d's. Many have modded them because they are torque beasts. It's not uncommon to get them to 500 hp and 800 ftlb, so you can imagine they're playing with stances all the time. Not many pull and roll fenders and some have put 275s on the rears.
    Also, I'm not sure if the Ford differential is necessary. On the diesels the doffs are rates for 1000 ftlbs. I could be wrong but I'm assuming that the 335i and 335d have the same stock diffs. If they don't then you might want to switch to the bimmer diesel diff instead.

    Parts don't get forged. Aluminum in it's bulk form i.e a block of aluminum gets forged before it is machined to the final product. So yes Ali, those wheels are made of forged aluminum. Companies call their wheels forged because the giant block of aluminum went through a forging process before it was CNC machined into a wheel.
