Those wee thingys are called coasters for sofas and armchairs. I remember them well. Andy don’t leave. I enjoy watching you.
I don't think you should leave, you make it worth watching!
Andy is 💯 correct. We called them casters or caster cups and they were to prevent the little wheels on the end of the furniture legs from scratching lino or marking carpet. I cant believe you haven't come across them Matt 😁
Can tell that they're not on holiday now - Matt back to his bullying ways again! Andy you are sooo right, they're for the bottom of chair legs. (And I'm not from Dorset, or having a cream tea or doing the other despicable things you said Matt.)
The ARP (Air Raid Precautions) whistle belonged to an air raid warden from WWII. It's sad to see a man's life contained in an abandoned home. The birthday cards still hung up was so sad to see. Thanks for all your videos.
It’s very sad. But love how these videos let these people live again and tells their story which might not otherwise be known.❤
I'm sorry Matt! Andy is right on this one about the umbrella stand. I used to clean for an elderly lady in an old house, and she had that coat/hat/umbrella stand. The square tray inset in the bottom is for the umbrellas and can drip off. Those circle pieces ARE for sofa legs! Andy 1, Matt 0 lol
The coat stand has a drip tray. The little round things are for the carpet for chair legs. It’s got nothing to do with the coat stand.
Many times the drip trays are missing so it’s nice to see it’s still complete.
I find Matt a sore loser and am I the only one who thinks he’d drive me round the bend?
Love Andy and he’s so right ❤❤❤
Absolutely brilliant, I love it when you you two bicker like an old married couple lol, Andy's right those round things are to put under furniture to protect the carpets, my parents had them under the suite and under the beds
The round flat things can be put under the legs of the furniture to protect the floor. I hope you know, Bear is the star of the videos! Lol ! I still love watching you and Andy. Bear is just so adorable!
Andy is right those little "trays" are chair castors I remember my Nan had them I'm sure they're made from bakelite 😊
They were made of Bakelite!
Thank you for the correction 🤦
Andy you are just adorable , you always make me smile . Thank You ! Love your sad face , it made my day .
Matt just give Andy 50 quid.
In the lower umbrella copper drip trays are round coasters used to protect carpet from furniture wheels, particularly for the old style lounge chairs that have wheels. Pianos use heavier and larger coasters. They are to protect the carpet...
Yep, Andy is right 😊 shut up Matt 😂❤
Can't wait looking forward to seeing you guys don't think you could possibly piss off Andy enough to quit he loves you to much plus you would be lost without him 😢 as we all would, love you both, Rebecca USA❤
Well Matt has proven that he's able to carry on and thrive despite Andy leaving the channel.
andy's right they are for furniture legs it helps when moving it across the floor pay him the 50 quid
Really enjoyed the last video, Andy is right about the cups they are for the feet of furniture, and you having a go at Andy dose not look good.
Another brilliant video, sorry Matt, Andy was right they are furniture coasters, love how bear was waiting at the top of the stairs for you, bear looked happy 😮😮😮
Matt doesn't like to be wrong when Andy is right then treats Andy like a kid , But saying that we all know matt loves Andy 🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂Awesome explore lads you never fail to disappoint 👍👍👍
Hey Matt, Andy and the beepers team! hope all is going well! been a little bit since i last did any exploring, really miss it.
Andy is right - those "drip trays" (hahaha) are floor protectors
Matt wrong again furniture's leg protectors to stop the carpet getting marked lol 😂
Matt your so abrupt with Andy .
If he went alone we'd follow him all day.
Matt and Andy, in the last bedroom, you were looking at an article about the baths. The article was about a man called Maurice Walton, and the name on the strange “dog tag” was Walton. The name on the baptism certificate was also Maurice Walton. I’m guessing that they are all the same man, and I might be wrong but it probably was the dude who turned 90.
Matt, Andy was right, it was an ice bucket. Those round things were not umbrella drip trays, they were furniture coasters.
And I believe Vick was renamed Vicks in around about the 1960s or something.
Cheers from Denise from Broken Hill, Australia
Lol! Also from Broken Hill, Australia! 👌🏼
Vick Vapor-rub has always been "Vick", there has never been an apostrophe and an S in the name. This is a very popular example of the Mandela Effect.
Stair treads meant you could move the carpet up /down one part to extend life of carpet as you would have a new part on the step. You would find at top or bottom there was extra carpet folded under x
Love you Andy❤ Mathew naughty corner right now! 😂❤
The newspaper story about Beatle haircuts was about Mr Walton who was the swimming pool manager. The RAF dog tag and baptism certificate must also have been his. Poor blind Andy getting picked on. 😂
Andy is correct, have some under my chair feet, normally made of bakerlite, love the house, great find.
Andy was right. AGAIN 😂😂😂😂 The little cups in the umbrella stand were for putting on furniture legs not part of the umbrella stand at all 💕
They are for protecting the carpet from furniture wheels. 100%
Andy is right about those things being used for furniture, i have used them in the past when i had carpet but now i have laminate
Those pictures of the cars…. we had a few of them hanging on the walls in the house we lived in when my dad was in the RAF in Wiltshire during the mid 70s. Another great video fellas xxx
Matt, im from down the road from you guys originally, and, even i have to agree with Andy about what those round things were.
Just think about how your brolly drips...it doesn't just run off the brolly, it drips across a wide area.
And, rather than eating a cream scone with jam and tea, I'm sat here taking a quick s**t watching this too...if it makes any difference to the situation.
😂😂😂👍
what Andy was picking are call casters for putting under furniture with wheels to stop them from digging into the carpet or lineo
Love you guys. Look forward every Sunday for my fix. Ive got my sister hooked and my grandkids. Thanks for keeping us entertained.❤
you better not go Andy love to watch you two.
Nah ! Their bond , love and understanding of each other will prevail ❤❤ . 💃💃. Cornwall love sent to you both 💃❤ x .
Can't wait for Sunday morning ❤💃🥰 x .
This was my find found it last year 2022 October a old man lived here he passed away can't believe how this has got out because it never came from me such a shame its been really tour bussed also lots of stuff missing from when I did it
It's really sad when that happens a place near me was perfect once then sadly the tour bus arrived and some well known urbexers made up stories that were totally wrong and the tour bus including beepers and AWE and the ego of urbex all went to a house that was inherited by a man on his travels poor guy and his family had his place ransacked and cars stolen
@@Sarah-bell yeah it happens. Reason I've kind of lost the heart for it. Way many people jumping on the it now
They are drip trays so the rain doesn't rot the wood, very similar to ones that go under chair legs.
😂😂😂👍
Matt stop bullying Andy
Andy is right! Hand over 50 quid haha, or 50 quids worth of apologies haha
Andy, I get and under all the crazy little things you do and say that Matt seems to not. Keep on keeping on 80s man!
Andy’s right sorry Matt your wrong 😂
10:50 min. for cocktail cherries in vodka martini !
You can still buy them carpet protectors for furniture so Andy`s right!
Andy is so calm even when he feels uncomfortable matt you was being really mean an yes they are for chair legs to stop furni dents
Andy was right about those little bowls on the coat rack being to protect a carpet from chair and table legs making holes in it. 🤪
Those little cup things are 100% furniture protectors
Matt Andy is right there for chair legs, old furniture like on wheels they protect the floor and stop furniture from moving x
Andy definitely right they are too protect wooden floors and save carpets from getting damaged, Sorry Matt😊😊
No hats, knickers or dresses to be seen, but still a great explore!!! Adore ⭐️⭐️❤️🇦🇺
Andy is right coasters for furn
matt ANDY is always right. ❤
Awesomeness, love you guys, you make my day when I see you again ❤
Good grief Matt, you were in an arsy mood here 😮😂😂 At 11:22 it's not a gadget to pick brains out with as you jested but it's a Victorian or Edwardian tool used for fastening buttons on shoes, boots and gloves etc 😊👢🧤😊
Andy's right of course.
They are called carpet cups for stopping the legs of your furniture from marking your carpets. I thought you knew a lot about antique items. It’s a good job us down in dorset know these things
It does get a bit hard to watch sometimes. I don't think I'd have stuck around. Andy is a diamond.
Andy spot on coasters to protect flooring Matt u nagg like a fish wife lol
😂 i found you 2 and love the banter and bear mischief and how bear always listen to Andy and looks after Andy.
The silver thing with a hook on the end (next to the letter openers) is a button hook, used for fastening the buttons on shoes. My mother used to use one when she was a child in the late '30s/early '40s!
I’m glad you’re back. I love your videos it’s so funny the banter between you and I loved that one when you went to Cornwall you should do more like that
Loving the lyons irish tea.. very old tin guys. Loved his walnuts. Great old age 90 something telling me they were... he or she 🇮🇪.
Andy and bear need to unionise
Andy is 100% right we had them under our furniture legs
Andie if you don’t get paid then don’t take Matts insults😂
Matt so you know its not just the ones that been with you for years that watch until the end so thank you Andy i listen all the way to the end i have subscribed
Matt Andy is right the trays for the umbrella stand are usually square and fit into the bottom of the stand so it can be cleaned. The round things are for chairs and tables to not make marks on carpet.
The long metal thing with the hook at the end was used years ago to button up women shoes
I've got my Grandma's :)
So do I
So many things Matt says here are from 70 & 80s are more than likely from the 50's when I was a child. My grandmother had the 1st mirror with beveled edge in the dining room from when she got married, she was born 1882. I'm sorry, tho I really enjoy Matt, he's coming across as being such a know it all. I dunno...I'm from the US so what do I know
Andy is right. He's always right and can never do wrong
I will not lie the moment Andy came out the room looking sad I acc cried bc the way Mathew said I love u really then asked if Andy needed a hug I want a friend like that 😢
I think Matt is suffering with PMS this week lol
Andy’s right and I’m from Somerset and not drinking cream tea 😂. They are for chairs to stop the floor from getting scratched xx
Bought some recently they are for putting under furniture legs to stop them marking carpets and wooden floors. The square tray is for umbrellas.
The head u picked up that you liked matt was for pipe tabcco (I think) 🤔
😆 Matt filming closeup of Andy as he exclaims "Oh wait! I recognise that!" the timing of that was too funny. Also I would love to have that book you guys look in and start to sing to! As junk journaler I would LOVE stuff like that.
We appreciate your videos . . They always cheer me up. .defo make Sundays better x
Sorry Matt Andy’s right I had them under the legs on chairs and tables ❤
Hi guys the whistle you found with word 'ARP' was the air raid warden who warned people of an incoming air raid during the blitz in WW2 just like Hodges in Dad's Army "Put that light out" and the RAF item is a "Dog Tag " you can see on the top his/hers service number these were worn and if you suffered serious injury or even death you could be identified, even todays troops wear them normally 2x around the neck and 1x around the ankle
andy is right there to stop furniture making marks on carpet or other flooring or can be used for under bed if have casters on
My Grannie died on her 90th birthday. God bless her and unfortunately she never met her great great grandson as I was pregnant at the time.
Andy is right Mathew xx
I liked this home…there were quite a few interesting things in there. I really liked the two different sets of little glasses that were in the original box. 🤷🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️. I just really liked them. Anyway, I did enjoy this explore. Thanks for sharing! I truly appreciate the
3 of you Matt, Andy and Bear! Sending lots of love from Maryland, USA ❤❤❤
I stayed to the end Andy was right they did go under chair 🪑 legs & other furniture to stop carpets from being marked 😢 don't go Andy we love you Matt ❤ you too
Andie is correct the little cups on the umbrella stand are for for furniture the umbrella tray if you look carefully you will see it has a square galvanised try to catch water.Sorry Matt you are completely wrong.
Oh Andy, you were such a Moany Minnie this morning. I’m afraid Andy was right about the furniture leg protectors. We had them in our house to protect the carpet from the legs of furniture. They were called furniture coasters. So I think a public apology is due to Andy. I’ve just now read the loads and loads of comments saying the same thing, so Matt you were so wrong 🤣🤣🤣 I’m also now watching another well known explorer and surprise surprise he has called it……..Maurice’s House, thought you would be pleased 😂 and now they can feel vibes. Maurice must have been out when you were there. He also got into the room that you couldn’t, but again nothing much to see. 💙💙
It's an ode to 16th and 17th century architecture That would help support roof timbers and then were decorated with a finial to finish them off. One can see them at the outside corners of garrison houses in New England and on staircases in England and America.
On the newspaper in that last room, Maurice Walton was on the front page! The name/last name that kept appearing throughout the house!
Ahhhh those little trays for chair legs. Not umbrellas!! Yes Andy, you sir are correct. Matt, stop arguing with Andy 😅
You're right Andy, 100%. !!!
Andy’s right about those we had them under our furniture x
The ARP whistle you were arguing over was for the Air Raid Precautions, the well known ARP Warden in WW2, a warning whistle used as part of their job. Think of "Put that light out" and Hodges in Dads Army 😊i am surprised you're not familiar with the ARP name.
J Hudson was a well known whistle maker based in Birmingham. I have one of their police whistles and it sounds Fantastic, just like from an old black and white movie 😊
Andy is right i live in the usa an my grandparents used them under all their legs of furniture not umbrellas and Matt stop being so mean to Andy please Andy dont leave i would miss you way to much and Matt can you please admit Andy he was right those were used to protect your floors so they put under the legs of furniture not ☔ umbrellas i did not like seeing Andy so sad 😔 ty for the video i smashed the 👍 and shared it take care be safe p.s. sorry you got so ill from all those drinks i was worried you were going have alcohol poisoning from so many drinks
The hook thing you said was Egyptian brain whisk is actually for ladies to facen their button boot's xx
Yes all those tiny buttons, now they put velcro on the back and 'cheat' 😊
22:11 not only does that mirror look 1940s but the wqy its hanging off of a picture rail ¾ of the way up the wall.
I always look forward to these videos, and i came so close to turning off for first time, realy feel for Andy, he done nothing wrong that i could see but god damn did he get ripped into this time, shame on you matt you need to treat poor andy better. And, those little cups are to protect ur carpet, drip trays for umbrellas 🤣🤣🤣
I always watch til the end. You two are so very funny. Love you both. Never stop your adventures
Love your videos! Watching from North Carolina back here in the States. Used to live near Brackley UK for a bit and miss it much.
Andy is right there for putting under legs on furniture to protect carpets or wooden floors ❤️
