After 2 years of frustration, Israel finally said YES! However, we've chosen a different path. Please use our experiences to help guide you in your Aliyah journey. Good luck! :)
Glad you got approved sir. I would like to start the process but would need some input on what proof do I need to show in order to make successful Aliyah. I don’t have make documents since I think we were assimilated from hundreds of years from Ottoman Empire. I am in Albania.
Mainly, they want proof of your Mother's and Grandmother's Jewish roots. That's the biggest issue, at least it was last year...I doubt it's changed. Good luck!
PLEASE RESPOND: How did it go for your daughter at school in Israel? Did your oldest go too? What about your youngest? Are you and your wife still here, or did you make aliyah? What ended up happening, please!?
So, we did get our approval. But, by that time my daughter was a Senior in HS and it just didn't make sense. Had they approved us after our visit, we'd have gone for it then. However, it's still in the cards...just in the future.
I think, at this point, we've decided to wait and see. Maybe in a few years we'll relook at it, but it took too damn long for us to react. Many people go and 'wing' it but I prefer a bit more certainty, especially with kids. But, I appreciate you asking! :)

If you don't have documentation that proves that your mother was jewish, then go through the process of converting to Judaism

Any idea where you guys want to live here in Israel?
We've looked at several places...Zichron Yaakov, Karnei Shomron, Modin, and we love the Golan area...
@@TheConfusedJew I live in Tzfat, but I've been to Zichron Yaakov and have friends there, it's a very nice place.
Why do you need to battle? They should be more in need of people than people of them.
Well, this was a few years ago now. These days, things might have changed. But, Nativ is still there...so who knows?

Yes, I know that as well. Sort of a little discussed issue in the grand idea of making Aliyah. But, it's a huge problem indeed.
Did you get a new home or a used home from Palestinians?
