Should Jews Continue to Support Democrats?
Examining Jewish Support for the Democratic Party in America.
Today, we delve into a pertinent question for many American Jews: Should Jews continue to support the Democratic Party in the United States? This topic, gaining traction in recent months, particularly since October 7th, seems more relevant now than ever.
My Background and Observations
As an American Jew with a liberal upbringing, my family has traditionally leaned Democrat. However, events, especially since October 7th, have brought us to a crossroads. Many Jews, including myself, have noticed a shift in attitudes. The Democratic Party, once a stalwart ally, seems to be turning its back on us. This leaves us in a quandary about our place in American society, given that a large majority of American Jews have historically voted Democrat.
The Dilemma
In recent times, particularly since October 7th, and now more so in the past few weeks, we find ourselves in a dilemma. The decision of whether to continue supporting a party that appears increasingly disconnected from Jewish concerns is not easy. For instance, the recent decision by 56 Democratic Senators to withhold military aid to Israel exemplifies this growing rift.
A Personal Struggle
As a liberal Jew, I grapple with this change. I cannot align with Donald Trump, yet I am also disenchanted with the Democratic Party. The dilemma is not just about Israel but about Jewish identity itself. This issue forces us to reevaluate our priorities: do we choose party loyalty or stand by our Jewish identity?
Liberal vs Leftist
I believe in helping others and supporting the underprivileged. However, being liberal does not bind me to any party. Today's Democratic Party appears different from what it was 15 years ago, seemingly shifting more towards leftism. This shift requires us to differentiate between being liberal and being a leftist.
Looking Ahead
As we approach the upcoming elections, each one of us must make a personal decision. I know whom I won't vote for, but that's a private choice. What matters is what you value when you step into the voting booth.
Final Thoughts
This topic is complex, with no straightforward answers. I encourage healthy debate and appreciate your views and comments. Let's continue this conversation with respect and understanding. Stay safe, keep learning, and keep smiling.

After days of reaching out to each other, Jews began asking, where are my non-Jewish friends? I'll answer that in this video. The answer may surprise you.
