    Star Citizen is an open development, crowd funded project from Cloud Imperium. Consisting of 2 games, Squadron 42 a single player, story driven campaign putting you in the middle of the Vanduul attacks as an up and coming UEE Navy pilot, and Star Citizen, a highly detailed
    first person MMO set within a persistent universe where there are no limits. This includes, space, and ground aspects, massive spaceships with full interiors and interactions, a full dynamic economy which reacts to the players actions allowing for anything you can imagine.
    It is all being built on the StarEngine (a modified version of Amazon's Lumberyard Engine).
    Please bare in mind that this is heavily WIP and in an alpha state in which much of the foundational tech to make it a reality is still being developed. Both games do not have set release dates yet but you can play the alpha build for the PU MMO which makes consistent progress
    with quarterly patch releases throughout the year.
    I am an independent content creator and a fan of the game, I am not paid by Cloud Imperium however I do accept ships from them to giveaway to my community but this will by no means influence my opinion or what I say and believe about the project.

    Something I love about Star Citizen is just watching people go about their business. Seeing ships landing and taking off at outposts n' such. Just a shame that some people have a shoot first, ask questions never mentality.
    (I'm still upset someone in a corsair decided to blow me up while I was just flying around in my 300i)

      Star Citizen, bringing the psycho in people since 2015. But seriously you can have less of these shitty encounters if you know how to avoid it. Thankfully i only had 1-2 of these encounters and indeed they can turn off your mood for the game pretty quick. Hopefully these become less and less of a thing once the "verse" expands from the only system it has.

    • @ADRIAAN1007
      @ADRIAAN1007 Před 4 měsíci +38

      The #1 rule for avoiding hostile encounters is to never target lock someone because that is a inherently hostile action. If you want info use V to scan.

    • @jacksonbarkerthebluehairedfox
      @jacksonbarkerthebluehairedfox Před 4 měsíci +9

      @@ADRIAAN1007 The thing is I didn't even lock onto him. I was just flying past him over the snake pit and he made a hard 180 degree turn towards me.
      Plus it could also be seen as a hostile action to chase after someone just to scan them.

    • @GUnit2214
      @GUnit2214 Před 4 měsíci +15

      @@ADRIAAN1007 I'm speaking for myself but i have been target locked multiple times and especially in cities, i do not view it necessarily as a threat if it's meant briefly. Some just do it to see what you are flying and your flight vector, it also seems like a rule that applies depending on location. If you are in deep space, at OM's or outposts with no armistice then i believe it makes sense but in such zones you can expect anyone to be hostile. I rarely use target lock and only briefly in armistice zones if they get too close since i've seen people ram or cause accidents by getting in your flight path.
      I honestly think, the #1 rule at this point in SC for avoiding hostile encounters is to stay away from most known hotspots or popular zones. Might seem boring yes, but that's what kept my shitty player induced experiences with this game at a minimum.

    • @cyborghunter5933
      @cyborghunter5933 Před 4 měsíci +22

      I had one of these types of situations myself. I was just going about my business in one of the non-armistice places and saw a player there but since I had no hostile intentions and it was visible because I was only wearing my flight suit and only had the starter pistol on me I did not pay attention to him. He had full armor and much better weapons so I would not stand a chance in a fight with him. He still decided to shoot me in the back, rob me by taking my pistol, revived me and flew away. He did it because he could, because he knew I was not a threat to him. This is why I think people just shoot first, no questions asked because once you are ambushed by another player even though you are clearly no threat to them, you stop trusting others in the verse. It would be really said if this toxic behaviour damaged the game this way because I think the game also needs casual players to play the game so it can succeed commercially and I believe a lot of casual players may be turned off by this kind of toxic behaviour. Organic gameplay where players compete in combat is one thing, random assassinations for no good reason is something else.

      @andreiuzunov personally, I would rather see you earn that vulture outright. You will appreciate it a lot more, and once you have it, cash will come easy.
      I also play mostly solo.
      My suggestion would be to do bunkers or clear occupants. Take a 1 scu box into bunkers, fill your box and ship then go sell. This early, it's worth getting every penny you can.
      Evict occupants in the settlements is even better. No box required. Loot directly to local inventory. In some cases, you can sell the loot on site. Mission payout is twice that of a standard bunker.
      If you prefer doing things in your ship, I would suggest going to Microtech and grinding the destroy illegal monitors mission. 20k a go, takes 5-10m, and another is usually waiting.
      Many people alternate Bunker/Monitor.
      Trust me, you'll have that vulture in no time, and once you do, you are sure to be buying your next ship (I suggest Cutlass Black) within only a few hours.

    I gotta say, I love this so much. Your gameplay and commentary and the series in general is super appealing, appropriate, and appreciated.
    It illustrates very well where were headed and what's going to make this game so wonderful, both when we get there and where we are now.
    I'm really excited to think about what it will be like when I can just live as an xeno biomass hunter/trapper trader. I can't imagine there not being some role for a xenobiologist once we can get around to it.
    That said, even if thats just a bit of RP, I will definitely be hoping they have solid flocking dynamics and such so hunting, fishing, and that as a form of sport can be teased out of the underlying systems. I could stand to even see bow weapons and a bit of primitive gameplay elements integrated, if only to extend the nature, feel and vibe of the game so it is all the more grounded and available for people that would rather focus on frontier elements.
    Given the effort theyve put in so far, its not to hard to imagjne them expanding in the future to allow systems like those in Icarus, for example. Id imagine once were to the point where things are very much in maintenance mode, they will have a hard time resisting the urge to throw something like that in given how much it would broaden the appeal to mass market and appeal to players that focus in those kinds of gameplay loops.

    Honestly having a Vulture is just pure freedom.
    Purely because you become a money making machine.
    Just pick up some salvage mission, pay that pesky lil fee and go to town on earning about 150k or more in salvage.
    You can get your first millions with that alone if you’re determined enough.
    And once you have a big enough chunk of credits to buy the reclaimer, you can really start raking in the credits.

    Don't know if it will change everything, not at 2.23 at least, the things that are on the road map will open up for changes, though I haven't seen much there actually changing the fluidity of the game. It will be so nice though if this actually releases all the clogs, though i'm sceptical but more hopeful then i've been in years.

    i love this other gameplay, not my tea but i love watching it.
    love that someone is cleaning up, you could also visit some of the friendly bunkers.
    just take the merc mission "defend the occupants", then you wont be trespassing, collect 3 or 4 ships and abandon the mission.
    the mission is free and has no starting fee, like salvages do have.
    theres usually a lot of abandoned ships there cause they cant pick them up again without trespassing.
    an extra bonus here is that no players will bother you, the turrets will protect you as long as the mission is active.
    those flying rocks tho, cant help but think of Pandora from avatar
    i think the cooldown on item will be 24h, just like pledge exchange
    base building will most likely start out like we already see on mining outposts, there is already landing pads, habs with beds ect.

    I seriously wish CIG would have given us a way to manually choose servers (at least until server meshing is fully working). My main issue with Star Citizen right now is how much is feels like an extraction shooter at times (and I hate extraction shooters). It's always a race to get your gear or resources back to a station before the server crashes or before a bug destroys you or your ship.

I hope they do alot of bug fixes soon as I have a cutlass with one engine for months now and a few other ship stuck with a few annoying bugs. ( make sure you land before leaving vulture seat as ive fell out of the ship a good number of times now leaving me ship less and unable to reboard.
    It would be cool if when they add helmet uses for professions they show you cracking line to get optimum salvage or mining resources but who knows. Bring on this yeah it nice to see strives forward compare to what we had back in the day 2.0

    Star Citizen could be great. Why not shoot for great? They should hire someone who understands what it means to be great.
    I'm sure we can come up with all kinds of examples where SC just keeps coming up short; maybe on purpose.
    Here is an example: When they said they were adding ruins you can imagine all kinds of things or just google "space ruins" and have your mind blown. What SC does is have a piece of rebar sticking out of a broken chunk of concrete and they call that a ruin.
    Here is another example: Take the Corsaire; a good ship. Make it great I say and it wont take much. One get rid of that center thing in the
    engineering room for some good work space. Two put in a window in the living/kitchen area.

    You are not finding ship probably because players are getting good at the contracts and you are helping remove the trash. This weekend may be different though as there are many new players coming in for free trying ships and missions for the first time. Ghost Hollow always have ships. This is a very difficult mission to crack. At Ghost Hollow, I always park where that cutlas parked. It's the best way to go into GH in my opinion. There are solo guards you can take out pretty easy from there. Do you know when the Arrestra is going to make its debut? It would be cool to see that in 3.23. Are you using a web cam, or another device to look around? It's pretty smooth.
