In March of 2020, I developed an odd fascination with witnessing history with my own eyes. I was locked inside, felt trapped and felt like my life, and the world was passing me by. That's a big inspiration for this entire channel- to see the world for myself, unmediated by anybody else. And that's what has brought me to Ukraine. So here I am, giving you an honest look at life in Lviv.

Nice channel dude. I first watched your video from India and then found your trip in a war-torn Ukraine.
It's very interesting to see that a lot of people in India saw you as a money bag and wanted to rip you off, whereas despite the war Ukrainians saw you just as a fellow human and were interested in simply hanging out with you and helping you.

This area looks like one of the wealthiest parts of Ukraine. They don't need to rip anyone off. On the contrary, the average brown person from a third world country thinks every white person is rich and they want to take advantage of them. Eastern european countries are not as poor and they are white and european. Many Americans are descendants of ancestors originated from all of Europe. They definitely have stronger connections, while brown people are so exotic to them (vice versa). So it's easy for browns to scam white foreigners

"This is Slovakia part of the former Soviet Union". 😂However I applaud the fact that he is adventurous and candid. This vlog about Lviv however is the best of a very patchy bunch. In fact it's great! The Darwin Award for travel naivete goes to the Japanese. Despite warnings from locals I have personally known them to be kidnapped by Chechen fighters in Georgia, eaten by a shark in Oz etc etc. FWIW I have made several visits to war-torn countries including Ukraine, Cote D'Ivoire (and noting your YT handle) Cambodia during the civil war between Hun Sen and the Khmer Rouge. That was the only country where I carried a firearm. @@SmallBrainedAmerican I don’t have a source but I was in Ukraine a few weeks ago filming just like you and one of my friends told me that any government buildings should not be filmed.
It is also something we are thought in the military that during war you should not film police military or other government facilities.
And if you do film anything military you should wait a long time before posting it(weeks) although I would say don’t film anything like that at all. I avoided filming all stuff like that as you can see in my videos.
Generally be careful what you film and if you have to describe something you seen try to not give away the locations.
You will see military activities and vehicles if you continue your trip into Ukraine but just take my word and don’t film it. Death is no joke. I’m sure you will hear plenty of explosions and sirens too just try to avoid filming it.
What is your plan in Ukraine anyways? A lot of roads are pothole central, if you need advice on good roads just send me a message.

Finally I made my way to Lviv now after watched this video months ago months ago. Life now in Lviv is peaceful and normal as any cities in the world. The destroyed Russian tanks are gone now although I really wanted to take a peek. I heard siren went off only once after a week in here. There are quite some military uniform men here. With the war going on on the east Front, a lot of adults' face here are somewhat heavy or solemn, who is not? In any world. Very deep-heart touched to see some men with young family/teenager children on the street and in shops, just wish all those brave men the best luck and return home unharmed to rejoin their family soon. This war is senseless, should have been avoided, it is definetely Putin's crime, but also the faults of the West, if they all do care enough about this country and its people they could have negotiated out somehow. No time to blame who cause this war now, it is time to achieve peace soon. People here are some of nicest and bravest in the world they do not deserve this. In addition to keep sending bombs to win, West also need to send a lot more investment, moneies, technologies... to rebuild Ukriane to one of most successful economy in Europe. If the West politians/business communities do really believe in democracy, they need to show actions where their mouth is. Ukrianie can be as wealthy as Poland and Germany, they have all the successful ingridients, they just need some kick start from the West.

As Lviv resident I can describe current situation in Lviv. The are no problems with water and there never been any during war time so that is not a problem at all. As for power, latest missile strike hit 3 main energy objects in region, we had no electricity for whole 15 of November. There still is lack of power, so there was created schedule list, where you can find when which streets of city are going to be powerless starting from tomorrow. As I far as I know situation in Kyiv is kind of the same. So i recommend you to delay your visit. That short answer for your questions. And now my personal opinion. I think that you shouldn't completely cancel your plans on visiting. In general it is safe to visit Lviv. Last two times of strikes on city before 15.11 were 10.10 and somewhen in June (2 last attacks were few days after remarkable events for Ukraine - Kherson liberation and explosion on Crimea bridge). Also city wasn't attacked yet, just nearby military and power objects. But you must understand that traveling in country during wartime can be unpredictable. During air raid sirens all shops, restaurants, museums are closed, you are not allowed to walk outside from 24 to 5, etc. So it's crucial to make flexible trip plan and look through all special wartime condition for civilians in Ukraine. I hope that this will help you, if you decide to visit Ukraine, have a nice trip. Lviv always welcomes tourists

Hi Connor, could you please go to Russia to get the other perspective on the war. Moscow and St Petersburg are reported to be beautiful cities. Also with some research listening to people like Col Douglas Macgregor, Scott Ritter, Judge Napolitano and so many others, they blame the US and their expansionism policies in trying to surround Russia with NATO countries as the real reason for the war. The US is only using Ukraine as their proxy to try and weaken Russia.
