Traveling Back in Time - Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar

- Hello Familia! Join us today as we explore this amazing place in Bagac, Bataan - Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar. This heritage resort holds a huge number of historical structures from the Spanish colonial era. This resort is filled with so much history of Philippines. Of course this wouldn't be complete if we didn't eat an abundance of Filipino food!
While we didn't know it at the time, weird and odd things were happening while we were filming there. We didn't realize until we were looking at the footage. There were some weird anomalies on many of the footages. Paranormal activities caught on tape? Unexplained anomalies? You be the judge. I promise you all...these are real, untampered footages.

My Goodness !!! The Philippines Is So Gorgeous !!! The Culture & History Is So Amazing !!! What A True Blessing To Be Living Such A Wonderful Free Spririted Quality Life On The Majestic Islands Of The The Beautiful Philippines ...
Thank you so much for watching ☺️ it is a wonderful place to live and we’re incredibly blessed.
Wow! I am so surprised to see a place like this in the Philippines. Thank you for sharing and for touring me around. For sure I will definitely visit this place once I come to the Philippines. The WWII has brought a total damage to the whole Philippines. Way back the time during the Spanish Era,Philippines was the most beautiful place in Southeast Asia.
Thank you so much for watching! It's definitely a great place to visit.
Beautiful province. My Madre (Ina) was born and raised in Bataan. Her dad was born in Barcelona and immigrated to the PI in the 1880's and became the home of the Samson clan family. They have unbelievably beautiful Tagalog accent. They are very distinct accent and different sounding Tagalog. lol
Wow! That's very interesting, I didn't happen to notice but many of the employees there spoke to me in English so perhaps it's harder to hear the accent. Thank you for watching 😊
You're probably talking about the Batangueño dialect.
@@miaya3898 quite possibly Batangueno have the same distinctive accent. I know Bataan since my mother is from there and remember all my cousins with that crazy accent.
Brian's drone shots are amazing including the music background. It kinda gave me goosebumps. I didn't know that Brian also has photography skills and his drone shots in this video are epic.
Wow!! Thank you so much, he's so talented and humble too. We are very lucky to have him as our director/videographer/producer/DJ 😆
Hi Cristina, thank you for posting this great vlog! My wife is from Cebu and for the last year has been watching your vlogs as well as 8 Miles from home etc... We’ve been planning our escape from the US for a minute and the countdown has now begun! I’m a concert Flamenco guitarist and composer. Studied in Spain and am a avid Skater/ex surfer soon to be surfer again. (We live in Portland, Or). So psyched to get over there and be inspired to write the best music yet to come! She’s told me about these Spanish style cities but I haven’t really seen much till now with your video! Dug the Spanish guitar music you used too. We’re possibly moving to Siargao since I surf and want to build a skatepark for the community. (I do outreach skate lessons in my spare time). Our Lolo y Lola have a great house in Cebu so most likely we’ll be in between those two places depending on season when I’m not touring. Anyways, just wanted to say hi and say keep up the good work!
Berto that skate park idea sounds amazing!! Let us know when it happens or feel free to keep in touch via email (Cristina.abelgas@icloud.com) that's a project I'd love to feature on the vlog sometime! We wish you the best in your move and upcoming travels, we still have yet to visit Siargao and we hope to make it one of our priorities for 2023. Salamat po and Happy New Year!
@@LLVT very cool. I’ll be in touch!
Hi @BertoBoyd, Vigan,Intramuros and Zamboanga are the most famous old Spanish Cities in the Philippines. You could collaborate with Universities here that offer music courses like U.P. , UST, & P.W.U. and do concerts and workshops if you want to share your knowledge on Flamenco music😊 there are also a number of good guitar luthiers in Cebu and Pampanga.
@@nardski1000 great! I really look forward to seeing these cities with my own eyes and taking away some inspiration. I’ll look up those other two cities. Thanks for the info!
I got the chills! In a good way. Those glitches were the spirits of the Philippines saying hello ♡
I think it was too! Friendly spirits who want to subscribe to the vlog 😆
Sudden random video and sounds cutoff. We're those the glitches you're referring to? Those may be the former occupants wanting to tell you they're still around😁 Seriously though, did your camera still "acted" when you got home? If it was exclusive only when you were in that place, something was happening. Maybe next time when you visit that place, try to snap some pictures randomly and see it something turns up.
Awesome vlog episode. I really enjoyed this episode. That place is awesome, specially the Hotel Oriente. That hotel is worth visiting by itself. Glad that someone had the foresight to preserve historical houses and buildings for future generations to learn and enjoy. 👍🏼❤️
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thank you so much for loving and appreciating the Filipino Culture!
Salamat po!
Yeah, I did notice the glitches, but when you said this never happened before, the hairs behind my neck stood up! Haha it's so weird. I've seen many vlogs about this place but it's the first time I've seen the insides of Hotel de Oriente. That place looks incredibly stunning. The woodworks looks like something from Hampton Court of Henry VIII! I have yet to visit Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar but am planning to change that in the near future. Safe and fun travels, beautiful fam! 😍
Thank you so much for watching! We were very surprised when we began to review the footage. We were even more surprised when other footages after this one were perfectly "fine" in comparison.
I’ve been there together with my classmates in the University in 2019 after our class reunion and we stayed there overnight. It was such an experience!
It is such an amazing experience!
That was an awesome drone shots of your husband. Enjoyed the sceneries! We can't believe we didn't see the place while in the Philippines.
He is so talented and he's so humble too! Thank you so much for watching 😊
You guys should also visit Batanes. It's arguably one of the best places to go for beautiful sceneries, rolling hills, mountains, and beaches.
Yep. That place is what my photographer friend calls a photographer's paradise.
Thank you for sharing! It sounds incredible, hopefully it's kid friendly as well.
Such a beautiful Vlog, feel like I’m watching the Discovery Channel! And the glitches gave me goosebumps! I really want to go there now just to see if it happens to our camera 🎥 👻
Woohoo!! I hope you do get a chance to go and at least take some incredible family photos on-site!
Wow that place is very beautiful old houses very filipino enjoy your de acuzar tour.😀😍🙏🙏🙏
Thank you! It's stunning and such an amazing experience.
I really loved this video and this is a place that I am hoping to visit with my family next time we are all in the Philippines together. BTW, your hubby's drone shots were marvelous. Cheers for sharing this video with us all and happy vlogging!
Thank you so much for watching and we are so glad you enjoyed the video 🥰
Thank you so very much for sharing this STUNNING place so so lovely enjoyed watching I might have to watch it again x Happy New Year everybody
It truly is stunning... it left me speechless so many times!
Great episode! I really love the detailed review of each meal. So satisfying!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Very nice Ate, for sharing with us about this historical place. Your adventuring throughout Luzon area promotes tourism as this pandemic, relaxes travel protocols. Happy New Year La Familia Channel. That place is much developed than Old Town admostsphere in Morena place San Diego. God bless
Thanks for watching! It is a very beautiful place to experience and we hope to continue visiting the popular but also less traveled places.
WHAT AN EPIC PLACE !!!!! ANG GALING NINYO MS . CRISTINA , SUPER BEAUTIFUL PLACE . IT'S LIKE YOU ALL HOP ON A " TIME MACHINE " . 👏👏👏🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭👍👋✌️❤️❤️❤️
It really did feel so odd to be going back into the past like that... it was an amazing experience!
i am fron Bataan..unfortunately,never been there!nice that u enjoyed the place!!!🥰😍🤩😘
Hopefully you'll get an opportunity to visit one day. They do offer day passes to tour the property. Thank you so much for watching!
Happy 2023! Your sons are very fortunate that you are able to document great family vacations and bonding moments during their growing-up years. They have something to playback during their adult life and eventually show them to their kids. =) Back in the day, videos were only for the privileged and wealthy. Most only rely on photos. It's very different capturing precious moments on video. Looking forward to watching more adventures of your family trips and fun moments.
Salamat po!
Thanks for showing this amazing place! I can't wait to attend a wedding there and take photos, too.
Have fun! It's so incredibly beautiful!
I cant wait to see more!!
More to come 😉
Awesome resort…….the buildings are magnificent and the views are breathtaking. BTW, I’m now following you on FB and Instagram👍
Awesome! Thank you!
Amazing photos!!! So beautiful !!!
Thank you so much!
Awesome Vlog ! I’m a Filipina
But I’ve never been to Bataan ! I didn’t know how beautiful Bataan is ❤ thank you for featuring this beautiful place !
You’re welcome 😊 glad you liked it!
Nice place.it’s like you are time traveling.nice drone shots btw😊
Thank you 😁
That is such a beautiful amazing place 🤗 I love it 🤗👍
Yes it was! We definitely recommend checking it out.
You're right, Paella should be pronounced pah-ey-yah because the dish originated in Valencia, Spain. However, most Filipinos say pa-el-ya, so here in the Philippines, that's acceptable. 😊
Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
MAYBE THE PLACE IS SO CALLED " HAUNTED " . 😱😱😱😱😱 & BY THE WAY STUNNING DRONE SHOTS . 👏👏👏❤️❤️❤️👍👋✌️🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭
Maybe... and yes he's getting so talented with his videography skills. I am so proud of him 🥰
Hi familia ..thank you for a wonderful and educational tour,.love it ..get me goosebumps just watching the scenes definitely there's something In there that I can't explain...you guys nailed every single details.... thank you 😄😄
Thank you so much!
Wow, that's a lot of improvements since I brought my kids there on our Philippine vacation in 2014.
That's great! I bet they're often making improvements on the property, we hope to visit again with other friends and family one day.
I love your vlogs. I finally saw how beautiful Bataan is, which I've never been to, only Corregidor where my grandpa & uncle were stationed after WWI, and my dad and his siblings were born. BTW, in Spain, the "LL" is pronounced as "ELYA"; thus, this is why Filipinos pronounce it the same. My grandpa's parents came from Madrid, Spain & migrated to the Philippines in the 1800s. So my grandpa & his 4 siblings were born between 1889 & 1890 & raised in the Philippines. So my father & siblings were about 3/4 Spanish because their mom, my grandma, & her siblings were also heavily mixed with Spanish from both of their parents. My grandpa & uncle (my dad's oldest brother) both served in the U.S. Army during WWI (grandpa & his siblings when they joined the Army) & WWII and were both prisoners of war & survivors of the Bataan Death March.
There is so much history in that area, I'm not surprised that we experienced the things we did. However, I did not expect them to happen at all because I was so excited in learning about the architecture and history.
Great vlog indeed! We appreciate you more in recognizing the West PHL sea! :)) More powers!
Thank you so much! I’ll be honest that I did check my map to be certain, I always love to know which body of water we are near wherever we visit 😊
I’ve been watching this place repeatedly of some CZcamsr blogger and it’s makes my my day so peaceful 👍👍👍
Thank you so much for choosing to watch ours as well! Have a Happy New Year!!
very nice video. very educational 👋👋👋
i seldom see videos like this. good job 👍
Thank you so much!
Your boys are wonderful. I hope they will grow spontaneously wonderful.
Thank you so much!
Love it! This vlog made me subscribe. High quality content. Awesome vlog. Ingat kayo!
Btw your kids seems to have a gift in vlogging or even hosting as well. They just don’t know it yet since they’re kids. Hehe safe travels!
Thank you so much for subscribing! We hope you will continue to enjoy the rest of the channel as well. The kids are so funny ☺️ we are glad they enjoy participating with us.
I thought I was going crazy. I did definitely notice those glitches. Very interesting and let's just say that you're being "welcomed" by the spirits 😀
Yes, I completely agree. I think they just wanted to get in a "shout out" on the vlog 😆
awesome guys❤ the drone shots
Thank you so much!
At first we we're annoyed asking what happened? Hahaha that's something indeed LoL😀 anyways it's such a beautiful vlog showing the Las Casas de Acuzar truly a magnificent place to go spend Ur Vacation👍time travel at its best just like the ones in Vigan 🤟 Reminiscing Spanish era in the Philippines 😀😊🤗🖐️
It was difficult to edit with all of the blackouts and even harder to upload because of the "corrupt" screens. But it was an incredible place to visit and we are really glad to have been able to visit.
This is the best vlog for las casas that I ever watched.
Thank you so much!
Beautiful episode! Makes me wanna go so bad.😩
Thank you so much! I highly recommend checking it out for a day tour at minimum.
Beautiful peaceful moments. Love it! I get it. What a lovely trip.
It was an amazing trip!
Awesome! I've not been there yet but feels like i had travelled bec of ur vlog. I'm Manila based and don't have the luxury of time yet to explore much of historical places. Maybe someday. 😀
Hopefully someday you can travel there 😊
I comment to soon..I was not ready of that last clip.
🫣
I love this video but i always watch your vlog but this one is amazing.
Wow! Thank you so much 😁
Awesome videos
Salamat po and ingat ‘til next time!
Nostalgic place 🇵🇭😍👍
It was incredible!
A scary vlog but that's a given since you've checked in a place back in time. 😊 The place is still worth it though.
Book a staycation in Hotel Montecillo in Tagaytay too!!! 😍 You'll love it!
Thanks for the tip! We had a really great time 😊
amazing drone footage's ✨✨✨
He did such a fantastic job! Thank you!!
Thank you for sharing this vlog! God bless!
Thanks for watching!
Gracias 🙏 Salamat pô sa cine ❤; my abuelo on my madre’s side was a sacerdote of Iglesia Filipina independiente y he was from that Pueblo in the provincia ng Bataan( btw in the Spanish time Bataan y Pampangga are one provincia🎉 y the bread basket of the Felipinas); of our hijos will be going to Manila fr CA(where they were born)…well fyi our place there where it overlooks the Manila bay y hints of city 🌆 lights the epic sunrise etc will overwhelm one’s sense of spirituality y pride🎉…I was in Bagac in the sesenta lol 😂 I was a niño😅 then …ty again for the 📽y your niños are funny❤
Thank you so much for watching and sharing your thoughts ☺️
Oh wow, goosebumps🙈
🫣
Very awesome vlog! This is one of my favorites. Glad that you had that historical experience as every scenery was spectacular. Did you figure out if those creepy flashes were only due to your camera malfunction?
Thank you so much! So far the camera has acted completely normal and we've filmed about 5 other vlog episodes since this one (we haven't published them all yet) but they had no anomalies or glitches 🤔.
Thanks for sharing! It's awesome! I pronounce it as pa- eya'
Thank you!
yes Cristina, you are right with the pronunciation of "paella". But Filipinos pronounce it as "paelya"😉
Thank you! Either way it's still the same delicious food 😊
You can book a wedding reception there at Hotel de Oriente.
Yes 😊 we saw a bride getting ready for her wedding on the morning that we left! I bet it was a magical event ❤️
Lol on the mysterious creep shots. Hopefully it's just your camera getting old. Kinda spooky when you think of how many people died in that area during world war 2. I have watched too many ghost movies.. Put it this way, if your camera goes back to normal when you leave Bataan then you may be on to something. Thanks for sharing.
Camera did go back to normal 🫣 we took it with us to Bohol not long after this trip and we actually even filmed the Binondo and the Christmas episodes after this trip as well. No issues with any of that footage... we found it very interesting to see these anomalies and we knew we had to share.
Hi there. Just wanted to thank you for the great videos. I'm planning to move there Dec 2024. Your son is like a junior food critic it's really interesting to see. Take care!
You are so welcome! Thank you for your kindness and for watching the channel 😊
Really beautiful and amazing place. Visited that place, stayed for a night, and really felt I time travelled.
It feels like a whole different world!
Camera glitches....ohhh if only walls and stones could speak. The vibes in the bedroom is strong that I can feel it. I feel like women in traditional Filipina outfit were watching and taking care of the place. The energy coming out are mostly positive. Sorry... I suddenly become a psychic...I'm not. But it was the vibes that I got.
One more thing. Your channel is amazing, informative, accurate story telling about Fil traditions and culture. Thank you!
Thank you so much for watching! It was an incredible experience and we truly enjoyed it.
Beautiful and amazing
Thanks a lot 😊
whoa that gave me goosebumps
We were spooked as well when we started reviewing the footage!
One of your awesome vlogs
Glad you like them!
Beautiful
Salamat po!
That place is truly amazing next time I visit the Philippines I’ll do the boat and breakfast ride! Bravo to bunsoy for giving us his honest reviews. I’m surprised he ate cheese cake knowing cheese is his kryptonite but does he know his favorite pizzas have cheese hehehe and Kuya is growing up we all go through it but we all know he truly love his family and still gives us his review.
Yes cheese is his kryptonite... unless it's in cheesecake form or melted properly on his pizza 😂
I find that place spectacular, need to visit it next time I'm in the Phils.
Spectacular is a great word to describe it!
Pa el lya paella (pa el ya)… drone footage is beautiful .. most old structures old buildings have souls remain there specially if those previous people owner or stays there (now became soul) are territorial & love the place
Thank you for sharing your video. ☮️♥️🌹🙏🤙
Thanks for watching!
The ghost from christmas past did the camera blackout. That was weird indeed.
It was spooky indeed, especially since we didn't see any of it until we started to edit!
Hopefully, I get the chance to visit that place. My grandfather (uncle of my Dad) he too survived the grueling Death March.
You truly must! The drive there actually took us on the same route the Death March went though, it was such a great learning experience for our whole family.
i love that place so much feel I'm travelling back in time so clean place and peaceful
It was so incredible!
Nice to meet ou,how amazing channel! see you later~=))
Salamat po and ingrat ' til next time ✌🏼
looks like your not in the philippines.. very nice place so amazing.. 👌
We traveled back in time for sure!
I think the spirits in those areas are welcoming you because they know your Hispanic as well🤗👍I did notice those glitches and loss of audio as well. Definitely it's an anomaly 👻👻👻
Yes they are! We didn't feel anything scary or unfriendly. I think they just wanted a shout out on the vlog 😂
Good Christina mentioned these glitches in the vid. I thought it's my newly replaced laptop acting up....again. Bought this 6 months ago (Intel NUC m15). I've had it replaced through warranty 3x already in that span. Glad to know it's your vlog that have those glitches not my laptop. hahaha.
I would pronounce it as Pa'e-ya.
😊
beautiful places ✨✨✨✨
Salamat po!
Yumyumyummmy
Thank you!
that's what i remember from my Spanish class, Calle is Ka-ye. but confusing with Tagalog as Kal-ye. So, pinoys say Paelya not Paeya (Paella).🤔😁
And I get confused in the opposite way 😂
I would like to speak to your experience so I hope you see this comment. I am one of those people who have a hard time visiting historical places, because I experience those strange experiences that you had visiting Las Casas Acuzar. I would love to visit that place but would probably have the same reactions such as nausea, chest tightness, general nervousness, because I do feel spirits. So you are not alone some people feel like you do. I just say a prayer of protection because I am christian and also the prayer to St. Michael and it has helped. Hope this helps you out. Also i would like to add that there are places I am so touched that I cant even go in because of how I feel, places I visited and felt (New Orleans, Ancestral Houses in US and even in the PI.
I actually prefer those street ice cream 🍦 over those made by Nestlé or Unilever. They taste so natural.
Unfortunately I can’t eat them because of the dairy but my boys definitely enjoy it!
Oh that place is beautiful. I feel like I am in Ilocos Sur.
It was breathtaking!
Welcome to Bataan 😍❤️
Beautiful Bataan!!
There is so much history in that place back in the days of the Spanish invasion so it's normal that paranormal things happen. You are really living up to your channel's name going to history riched places all over the Philippines.
I love visiting places like that and also nature exploration as well. Hopefully as the boys grow we will be able to go on longer hikes and things to explore more of the natural wonders too.
@@LLVT I can tell from you and your husband's built that you like outdoor activities. You may want to check out ViewScape Nature Park where you can camp above the hill and see the clouds below at sunrise. Or visit Caleruega where you will climb more than 50 steps to see the chapel on top of the hill.
Hello I'm John your server at Italian Restaurant 😀
Hello John!! Thank you so much for watching ☺️ curious, have you ever experienced anything odd/paranormal while working there?
Paella (pa-E-ya) or Arroz Valenciano, as some Filipinos would have it, is great, except that I’m on keto - por su puesto, no lo necesitó el arroz. Coming home soon! 🇵🇭
Cauliflower rice only 😆
We were actually taught in our Spanish courses way back when I was in school in the Philippines to pronounce double "Ls" as "el-ye" etc, etc....Now having been in the states since 83 and served in the Navy, stationed in San Diego for 13 years on and off, traveled to a lot of Spanish speaking countries and being exposed to American Spanish and south of the border Spanish, I now find myself pronouncing the double "Ls" differently i.e in the Philippines, Villanueva is pronounced as Vil-ya-nueva. Now I pronounce it as Vee-ya-nueva.
Yes! You've picked up the Spanish way of saying it 😆 I can hear it just fine in the "el-ye" but I just don't think I can comfortably say it that way.
Actually the RAE (Real Academia Espanola) literature says the "el-ye" pronounciation is correct and it all began in Andalusia but later on the "y" version just caught on because of media use at the time....I have done some reading about that cause I was curious as well.
New subscribe here ! Awesome
Vlog
Hello po! Sorry for the late reply - thank you so much for watching and subscribing. We hope you are enjoying the channel!
Wow inggit ako haha buti pa kayo napuntahan nyo na ang mga lugar na di ko pa napupuntahan. And I'm the one who lives his entire life in the Philippines. ;) sigh. Enjoy and stay safe.
I spent most of my life in California and I never visited Hollywood if that makes any consolation for you 😂
@@LLVT hahaha well but i have not yet set my foot or my toe in the US. Joking aside Im happy for u guys and the kids. Enjoy and stay safe. God bless.
That was scary. Could it be that the ghosts did not want people filming there? If we can find oher similar experiences by other people in that place, it will confirm it. 😨🤣
I'd be curious to know if others do/did experience similar camera issues.
I've been there 6 years ago. We did a daytime team trip with our boss. We had a great time. I took many photos of the diff houses. I saw this one house with bricks on the lower floor and wood structure on the 2nd floor. I took many photos of that house. When I got back to Manila I decided to print the photo of that house with tisa bricks on the ground floor. I bought a 60 x 30 inches frame and printed the photo of the house that I took. I decided to display the photo of the house on our sala. The first night i've started to dream of other dark entities. The next day I got sick. The 3rd day I dreamt of getting stuck inside the house that im referring to and I saw one of my family members face change into a aswang. On the 4th day I removed the printed photo and throw it outside. I got better again. One of my neighbors got interested with the house photo. He decided to bring it home and put it in his sala. The following day he returned the photo to us and I asked him. Why did you returned the photo. He said, there's something on that photo. When I displayed it our sala. I started to feel something like its weird and the photo has this dark history. Then I told him what I experienced. Then he said, why didnt you tell me. And i said I told you not to get it and just throw it. Then a passerby saw it and took it home. The rest is history and I hope they throw it or destroyed it. Goes to show that every structure has its story and secret.
Wow! That's a very interesting story!
Hope to visit that place some day
I hope you get to as well!
Mornin guys
Hello and good morning!!
6:47 The food critic LOL great description. 15:20 I'm from Cavite We pronounce LL as elye, for example the name Villamor is pronounced Veel-yah-mohr
Thank you so much for watching and for sharing your thoughts with us! Ingat 'til next time.
👍❤️
✌🏼❤️🇵🇭
happy new year Pamilya
Happy New Year!
Happy New Year Christina and Family,
Hope all is well and good with everyone there.
Thank you f p r sharing this, very much appreciated.
Stay safe and take care.
Regards here in Madison, Wisconsin
Salamat po and Happy New Year!
In Phils i hear mostly "ya" for the "lla".
However, my teacher from Colombia pronounces it as "dya" or "ja". Lol.
Interesting how it's so different in other languages.
Double L was originally pronounced like the double L in the English word "million." But it changed over time in most Spanish-speaking countries. Philippines still kept the original pronunciation in most words, except for some like kabayo, which is why the spelling changed to Y
Interesting! Thank you for sharing 🙏🏼
